i run and camp rented, but this guys dotn have balls to hunt me in group of 4 maxed puke legend. Why ginlon whinin about overkill? We (bn's) meet it all day.
This game its not the same as some years ago -true but is it better?
But this is not whine just a reflection, maybe time to give chance as Siroth and others and let him plays alone? I think they will gone cause they just cant. What a pleasure run and hit kill man or assist leader?
You moron move you mind and start play solo some. (more fund and adrenalin gwaranted -what for is mume?)

Lochdale2000-09-26 18:10:48
Nod Morholth. With my other char I just follow and hit. Its with Lochdale that this game has really rocked. Learned to map and have like 78k tp now with more to come. Perhaps that is why I bitched so much about regen changes (Rogon you ripped me for my whining but when they took away your wps you did the same: Its never fun when they take away the part of the game you like most :( Scouts are the best class for newbies and/or explorers. We need more of them.
Duvel2000-09-26 18:13:04
I am happy scouts are fucked it was so freaking boring scouts all day in warrens and when night they fucked away in tree *SNOOORE* so boring!

Happy they gone now.
Alcion2000-09-26 18:18:43
So, if a group of 4 see a solo darkie they shouldn't chase?
Olorion2000-09-26 18:18:58
I can trust you that most of us have walked alone alot,
and most of us have leaded a group.
but.. we sure was many there :)
Relim2000-09-26 18:24:32
Hey Duvel, I still do that and I ain't bored yet :>
morholth2000-09-26 18:30:08
alcion hmm sure they could but more wp for evryone if he get me alone.
it was just reflection but i know that some peaople just borned followers you cant change it. but i ask them only to try it. i died abot 30 tmes overkilled and is to late to whine now about this but let start play people?
Darkwimp2000-09-26 18:30:41
the nsl is just getting braver and braver.
Ariala2000-09-26 18:39:33
heh about overkilling
i don't like see some 5 orcs in eregion which chase me
and my follower (15 level).Start s of abr and ends near morthan when im ported.
btw i dont have many friends in mume so usualy run alone.
Tuen2000-09-26 18:41:02
I remember first time i ran through eregion solo, was funnest time i ever had, next time i did it with 1 follower because a bn was around and i was only level 15 so i was playin it safe, was still rockin, i like littler groups
Axel2000-09-26 18:42:58
Why do we need more scouts??? 6 month ago MUME was flooded with scouts and it was
brutally annoying - was way too easy to play them - if you just need scouts for
exploring like Lochdale said I dont see the problem - if u don't spam track
someone it still does not need a lot a skill to play em. ppl and mainly Lochdale
please stop thinking just because your char is a scout you have to sneak all the
time! Hide was totally overpowered and certainly the sneak/track-maluse sucks
bad in pk and I also bite my ass when I track someone and after 30 rooms I get
tired. But finally the number of scouts is there where it should be in relation
and it finally needs skill to play them. And dont start talking about warlords
now. It is not the chars who warlord its the people. Btw I dont say that scouts
are as easy to warlord as a smiting warrior and those who want to warlord
certainly play the classes which is easiest for that. Used to be scouts - so be
happy that it was that way and give others a chance too :P
Axel2000-09-26 18:43:28
oh, I forgot - comf Morholth
Lochdale2000-09-26 18:46:32
Axel: Consider this, if I do not sneak and I pass you as an orc you will see a hobbit and probably think Aha! A hobbit therefore a backstab may be coming! I Right there I have lost the element of surprise I need to bstab, unless you are a complete moron. Additionaly, sneak is great to ge by mobs and scout ares like Dunland and learn where things like FOY are etc. solo
Relim2000-09-26 18:53:46
Actually, well put. It took some time to get to grips with changes, but I believe I'm there now (dunno about having any skill required to do that...). Style of play has changed, that's all - it's not actually comparable to taking wps away, Lochdale - you have the same skills at your disposal, you simply have to be more skilful in using them.
Relim2000-09-26 18:54:42
Either I'm very tired from just getting back from the States, or you made no fucking sense at all with your last comment, Irish. I vote the latter.
Axel2000-09-26 19:00:24
sure sneak is nice, but still for mapping you dont need it all the time - if
the element of surprise is ya only concern then just sneak all the time, but
walk slower
Relim2000-09-26 19:03:37
Furthermore, may I suggest you get ride? Then, unless you named (I doubt you are :P), they have no idea you stabber. Saves moves, let's you turn around, dismount and stab the suckers.
Without wanting to sound like a hypocrite, may I suggest that you are blaming the games mechanics for your inability to adjust and/or pk in various environments...
Unknown2000-09-26 19:08:01
Who gives a shit? if you cant cope, go away and play chess.
Relim2000-09-26 19:08:40
I couldn't take chess, so I came back to MUME...
Hyack2000-09-26 19:11:39
If they happened to be in 4-pack, why shouldn't they chase you?
Should they split up, so one will chase and the others will sit on their asses? *ponder*
morholth2000-09-26 19:20:40
eh, i dont whine about scouts changes , i only suggest to play more solo, if u like play thief ok or mage i dont care. check warlord list bn scout is on them so, but i dont like camp rented all time. You peaople get big groups and ruin a game , group 2-3 is ok but 4+ is just lame and i think no pleasure to be in one of them so that why i mostly play solo. hmm why bn thief just a my choice and i dont whine about mp regen etc. bn has all time sucky regen so no diffrence (no is better i think ;-)
Lochdale2000-09-26 19:51:09
All right Relim I will go step by step so you can understand:
1) Was using warpoint analogy as a dig at Rogon who lashed me for whinging about the changes when he went and did the same thing when they changed wps. I was not comparing the changes themseleves.
2)Mume Scouts riding? sigh that may be the way but I don't think its appropriate
3)Actually, I had 30 wps when they changed so I think I was named sometimes to ppls but if you see a hobbit on foot chances are that they are a scout. Moreover, I think I have adapted well and gotten some kills but it does not mean I am happy about it. Also, I don't play very much due to rl work committments so I really can't put in the effort to become better at pk much to my chagrin.
Lochdale2000-09-26 19:52:08
Ack! Lastly, scouts are still the best way imo to map (or a porting mage).
Gundor2000-09-26 20:11:31
No, they should not split up. If I don't get a bobber (aka Per) when I play warrior I instalog my mage and then nobody can buff for the casters. And besides I'd go berserk and hit Alex a few hundred times if he once more ran away and tried to get solokill.
Inghraz2000-09-26 22:41:35
You shouldve seen it last night. Andel tracked me in priest. One orc vs one supermage.
And he called 6 others, then blocked doors and THEN came to hit me at priest.

And who came to assist in the slaying of a trapped solo orc, whose only way of doing damage is stab?
The same 7 pukes who came for one orc in cellar half an hour back.

Jeez and these people warlord too! :P

Ginlon2000-09-26 22:57:19
Morholt.. this is WHY i whine...
Im not saying its worse for me... im not saying I
never overkill.. im saying i don't like it...

MUME havent always been like this...was more fun "back then"...
And i think most oldies agree to that...

I overkill, i get overkilled, i get trapped, and once every blue moon i trap..

That doesnt mean I have to think its fun anymore...
Buliwyf2000-09-26 23:53:24
Anyone else think that losing the Old Ford just made those big groups wander all over instead of just fighting there?
Relim2000-09-27 00:31:43
Lochdale, you truly are a blind fucker. - always the answers, but never the right ones. Ah well - once more, you go down in my estimations. We'll be digging soon, lad.
Lochdale2000-09-27 00:48:38
Relim why must you always answer questions/explanations with cursury remarks? I think we are all a little less for it. Perhaps you could address your remarks sequentially so we may all be enlightened by your munificence? Again, you and I seem to go in circles on these issues. I don't take mume very seriously but I enjoy mume.net and learn an awful lot from it. However, your flames can be equally funny and equally ridiculous. You need to find that balance :0
grunge2000-09-27 00:54:42
I think you both smoke cock, howz that for personal. Munificence??? who the fuck you think you are?
well you aren't!

and...um what else....oh yeah moves for scouts bite ass :)
only way to beat the system is to use every possible way to increase your moves,
then you can run around like me!
Oscarmeyer2000-09-27 00:59:55
Hi, just my 2 cents. Personally, I hate the thief changes. If you don't have gleaming, fgc, low carry weight, and high con/endurance, you are screwed. If you have those, though, and use them wisely, thieves are playable. Just do the following: Max swim, and don't play in winter (many prefer orcs/trolls this time of year anyway). Ride whenever possible, but track often so you don't stumble across pukes any more often than you have to. Never let yourself get lower than 50% mps, unless you are being chased. Camp rent when in danger - hit and run attacks are more effective than trying to stab someone who knows you are there for an hour straight. When you see a hugegroup or locating mage, rent. If you kill someone and know a hugegroup or locating mage is around, camp rent asap. It sucks when rangers hit you 5 zones south of morthan on low mps, it sucks when hugegroups locate/spamtrack you all over, it sucks that you have to rest every zone, every half-zone if tracking, it sucks......
Lochdale2000-09-27 01:00:32
Thats fairly funny for an inbred hunchback, Grunge. Hanging around me has elevated you to a higher social status then you could have ever imagined. Keep at it and I might let you wash my car.
Oscarmeyer2000-09-27 01:00:46
BTW, I just re-warlorded, so if you play superwimpy style, it IS possible, even if not quite as fun as it once was.
Relim2000-09-27 01:32:19
Actually, Lochdale, it's because of your slimy, pathetic, idiotic nature. You keep going round in circles, pal, and I'll move along and do what I should've done a long time ago - ignore your dull, clueless ways. Tata.
Lochdale2000-09-27 02:01:53
I think Relim is crying out for a hug.
Unknown2000-09-27 03:09:12
I think he's crying out for you to stfu? He's not alone on that.
Unknown2000-09-27 05:50:49
If it's not fun, quit.
Pampalini2000-09-27 13:59:30
NSL is spamming like shit on fast link, if u are solo in bad place, they kill
you and you cant do anything. At least they are not wimps.
Cur/Roadkill2000-09-27 20:32:08
I keep saying this, but nobody responds: Remove or heavily reduce the ability to group, and the leadership skill's effect on movement, and we'll see a happier, better MUME.
Lochdale2000-09-28 04:28:36
Unknown comments are sort of worthless. Have the nads to use your real name. Cur: What sort of modifiers are you suggesting for group movement? It sounds interesting.
