Morholth sorry to break it to ya, but that sparrow revealed ya, it wasnt the *man* or Elestir, or the *Half-Elf*. The *man* was spamming Kill *man* and just as the sparrow walks into the room, he spam searches (like all mobs do now) and ya got revealed. Ya sorry some Aratar has to fuck the thief class up so bad, its impossible to exp and pk now.

I wouldn't say it's impossible now, just harder than hell. Of course, it doesn't help when you suffer from 1 second constant lag and take on 3 pukes in one room, by trying to spam shoot them to death. I still can't believe I lived through that! *tickle Var, Mahyr, Falon*

It most likely was the sparrow hehe. I was xping my newbie the other day, and while fighting a black wolf, it was searching out elven hunters while engaged. Interesting that players cant do searches while engaged, but mobs still spam search while engaged.

Actually I dont think it was spam search by sparrow but just the fact that
he tried to move west (which he couldnt). I was surprised that hide worked as
well as it did ... though a few more thorough searches likely would have flushed
him.

Didn't know hide is so effective nowadays. After 3 search thorougly I was really
sure you are not in the room. Of course we didn't know you are naked.

And you really proved bn thief is not that hard to survive. Just sneak/swim/hide
till noquit flag is gone and then camp rent whereever you want. As simple as that.
Of course if rivers are frozen then bn thief is almost dead thief.

*LAUGH* Few mobs search now, though they are same as before change. Just now
searching produces echo, which it didn't before. And thief class is still
EASIEST to exp (and hardest to pk tho). For example: now i exp my new defence
warrior - and of course i exp him rerolled to thief. Believe me, it's easy
to do around 120-150k per hour (and even more after hero level) if you know
Arda well, and have some chanted weapons :P

I love the search-echo for xp - you see when you definetly wont succeed on a stab
and cancel it - it is more of a gain than a loss - so stop complaining

When you get no messages from bats, but you do get A Large Bat has revealed Gretna (for example), all mobs search quickly. Assassins, bats, and everything in the whole damn game. So until you play and experience dont comment?
