We found Morholth in OOC and spammed him there to death. He had no flag, and we had no chance to find out that he has link troubles. Tindo left to Moria and we went back west check for orcs who were at Khuzur, on the way there we found Morholth again, we nuked him some, he sneaked out and hided. He probably lost link while hidden and thus we had again no chance to see neither him nor his linkless flag. Just like 0.5 sec after we flushed him (took some time as his hide rocks) he reconnected and died very fast.

And yes, I huge group when I smob. And I smob often. And if it happens that enemies are around, why should I not ambush them?
And no, I dont think there is anything wrong in overkilling stabwhores.

I find it funny that people still complain about 'stabberwhores'. I mean, it's
easy as eating an apple to avoid getting stabbed, and stabbing thieves die
easily, as they get run out of moves, or smitten to death by powerwarriors, or
spelled to death by shamans with def too high for thieves to touch.

It's just the same with warriors, they can rock solo, and can be rocked solo if
the opponent has a clue and possibly (though not needed) luck on their side.

Every class has strengths and weaknesses, and good players will use the strong
points of their class to successfully pk solo against other solo players, and
their opponents will try to work -their- strong points against the opponent's
weaknesses in turn.

What upsets this rather delicate balance, is when people move around in swarms,
thus negating any weaknesses any individual in the group may have by the sheer
force of numbers, and also making any strong point the enemy may have useless.
For example, it is useless to hit hard and do insane damage vs. one char in a
group of 10, if all you get is 1 round of combat before the many blows and
spells or whatever get you to bad.

While making groups to wage war effectively is something we would do to win a
war or struggle in real life, MUME is a game and, as such, needs to have
balance. If the game becomes unbalanced, it becomes boring and one-sided. So
you can't justify everything you do on the mud by saying 'it's war out there',
because there is a difference between games of war and actual war - real wars
generally have some sort of outcome one way or the other, while the war on MUME
must rage on for ever. So a balance must be maintained.

Most Aussies have bad links but other than Stormblast I have never been shown
mercy for it. *clap* Stormblast. But when some of us always have bad links and
others with 99% good links whine we have little sympathy.
