I agree with Lochdale. I play from a T1 link, but connect to Mume at 230ms, go figure. My assbackwards town decides the best way to route me to Norway is to first send me to Texas (from Florida) then route me back east. Booooooo team!

Hrm, here at .ee ADSL upgrades modem from 170ms to 70ms so it's worth it. Plus you don't have to pay for every minute you play :)

Its a routers issue and Estonia (Tallin I presume) is rather close to the Scandinavian coast. There it would make a difference. I believe my isp (MSN) routes it throgh Bill Gate's arse before sending it onwards.

be happy with your 56k and 170ms link. Some of us play from the east coast US and have much worse than that, even on cable.

ADSL has gotten nothing to do with it. If your connection speed
improved then most probably your provider connects ADSL links
to a different infrastructure.
In theory even a 9.6KBit modem should do fine in MOST situations,
just not in the big spammy fights.
