Trolls moves is a joke. I have a hard time beliving there is a serius consideration behind giving the only race in the game with no mounts/bob the lowest amount of moves. Until whoever it is quits joking a couple of us trolls went on a vacation to mordor and can only be reached via mail.

Most i just would say get real. There are reasons for number sin groups.. Smobs
is one but there are many others.

I like the quest idea but not that there has to be some major awards
Quests should be for fun and entertainment not something u do to Gain major eq/gold/xp
medium eq like banded ring, jewels maybe even a quest that gives max enchant(or even better)
Herblore potions and so on. But nothing more than 10-20k for fulfilling the quest. Jewels with total worth 20-100
depending on quest.
Many ppl dont know about the fact that we do have quests in mume already

1.Dagger-quest in Bree weaponsmith, think its fgc and stone ?;
2.Lost daughter-quest in Shire, think its for fgc and stone ?;
3.Lonely giant Quest for herblore;
4.Aldereons Quest for herblore;
5.Nordris Quest for herblore;
6.Rangers Quest for Herblore;

Xp quests really do need to be imped... it seems a bit ridiculous for elven clerics to become stronger be running around killing the local wildlife. The only realistic leveling by lowbies is orcs and trolls, who actually have mobs of other sentient beings to battle. Once whities get high enough there are evil humanoid mobs to kill, but I feel foolish xping as lowbie whitie mage. It seems like I'd get as much "experience" firing magic missiles at a dartboard.
I don't really think eq is a problem.. suprisingly well-balanced, actually. Of course I'd expect a dwarf clad in metal and wielding an axe, however inexperienced, to be able to beat a naked little man.

Er..yea on the quests but make the magically item bound to a user. That is if you complete the quest you are the only one who can use the item. If you rip and are looted its just a nice paperweight or something decent to sell.

2.And the group limit size thing is a no good idea also since if 3 ologs group up Not a singel 3 group pukes are ever gone kick em
3.for the eq thing i think you should do more regen stuff a little less important i mean a warrior can hardly do anything without a gleaming so if gleaming and fgc didnt give ass much as they do peapole are gone stop using em so often
4.Still eq Max def db eq is to good mage fgc like 3 db and fine grey like 5

arent you? Some skill need to be modified to allow different type within classes.
Charging for example needs to be fixed. Hopefully when Rohan opens the max prac
in ride will be reduced at all guilds except Rohan. That will prevent all people
being expert riders and allow for regional specialisation. I play with a bad,
Australian, link so I dont pk as much as other legends so I cant comment on the
rest. *nod Meteor* Trolls moves should be better since all you can do is get out
at night. By the same token reduce effects of draughts.

My scout (this char) can't do anything without draughts... One draught gets be from fainting to tired, which is used up running one zone.. or just a few rooms if I'm using sneak.

Well, I didn't tell people how to comment, I just didn't want people complaining about NSL for some fucked up non-related reason, and then have the rest of the 30 comments be about them. The numbers would definitely be up for consideration but, I believe quests should be somewhat rewarding since they can take quite some time. In that time if you were purely xping, you could probably get quite a bit of xp, this was would just be more fun. Move regen for trolls is fucking crap I agree. You are of course the ONLY race/class other than BN thieves that have this problem. Your race/class is the issue, not the fact that there need to be more move regen items. Think of how fucking stupid this sounds. WE NEED MORE MOVE REGEN SO TROLLS ARE PLAYABLE!!! Now give a normal orc/puke warrior that same regen eq, and you will have them running from noc to bree and back in 5 fucking ticks. However, make all pukes/orcs have the same move regen, by eliminating eq, that trolls currently have, and you have somewhat levelled the playing field. Right now its trolls and bn thieves that are getting screwed over, not because of the way they are, but because of the way everyone else is in comparison.

The problem is everyone BUT trolls move regen is too high, it needs some
balancing. I'd like to see some quests here too, and there is soooooo many
things already in mume that should BE quests but just aren't. (Great Goblin
whines about his cloakpin that the bloodwight now has, The many books and
writings in mume could easily work into quests) There are a FEW quests in
mume, like Malardil -> MA stuff, but it's just so stale. I've stated enough
of my ideas though, All over boards on Mume, as mortal and immortal, on
this page, and with discussions with V+, and rarely have I ever seen any
go anywhere. Mume's implementing system is just plain too slow.

Liked most issues cept the quest ideas. Far to powerful rewards would mean level 100+ legends. No good. And also eq is as important as it should be. Labero also is a good player, but hey, it's not like he's invincible.

I have already sent ideas about diff eq from moria and what tailors could make
but management doesn't have resources is my opinion, why nothing works:).

i like all ideas xept the one about traveling slower or what evr it was
and abotu thuge groups, the only good way to fix things (i think) is to make groups over 2+ followers get huuge lagg that way you stil can supermob and such but you just move slow as fuck.

Well... to play a bn means that you HAVE to be good. That means that if you cant
kill a fullseted dwarf, then you run. Thats the MEANING of the *. So a lvl 25
fullseted dwarf SHOULD kick any bn (thats why bns have to be experienced and
smart, else there wouldnt be a challange would there?). Huge groups have
destroyed MUME totally, so any change there could only be for the better.

comments about quests her are quite stupid since it all depends on how hard the quests are, eh? If a quest took several days RL, 100k exp is nothing. What I heard exists and works well on some other muds are imm-run quests and scenarios (like hunt the -oreks weekend) where a littlebit of rp is encouraged. I guess in the present day situations the high imms won't be interested in this, but maybe some of these totally unproductive maias like rogon :P would find it interesting. Player manners vs gods and god manners vs players would have to be substantially changed first tho.

1) Write in file, then post it - if you wanna have 80 chars/line post; 2) Post on General board in MUME next time? 3) Stop trying to slow MUME down - it's boring; 4) If you wanna reeq up to full set in 5 mins - play Quake! MUME is heavily eq-dependant game, and it is GOOD THING. In Quake wins skillest, in MUME - most prepared: live with it.

Here are some ideas that I think should be considered. I am writing what I think would help MUME out, and also writing ways in which you could implement them.

1. Please add some quests that offer good xp and good items, or good amounts of money. By good xp, I mean quests that give 250-750k xp. By good items I mean introduce newer weapons, armour, shields, belts, trinkets... They don't have to be particularily powerful as I am not a big fan of magic items, but I do like unique items. Perhaps the can be similar to items already out there, but given different names and looks (eg. a broad, glittering belt : +1db, +4 move regen...). And by gold I mean large amounts like 500-1k gold. This would help out legend home seekers by eliminating the tedious spamming arda of eq-loading mobs, and stocking up the shops with useless items... These quests could be done only once, or perhaps more than once, but very infrequently, with the quests changing from time to time... This will help MUME become something more than simply a PK or XP mud for legends or mid levels...

2. Limit the size of large groups. Make leadership only powerful enough to let you lead two followers and yourself. Don't give tp bonuses to the leader of hugegroups and give SEVERE xp/wpt maluses to those in hugegroups. Pk in groups of two and groups of three are definitely the more fun than pk in groups of 6-20 vs 6-20...

3. Somehow limit the speed of travel. Its not very fun to chase someone who is at bad hps from ford and find out that by the time you get to Bree he has been inside for 4 ticks =( I don't have any ideas that I like on how this could be done, so some suggestions would be appreciated.

4. Pk should be more based on skill and less on eq. Labero in a plain set, will get his ass kicked by a no-clue legend dwarf warrior in a max set. Seems a little wierd to me, that could be happening. Brings me to the suggestion that eq needs to become less important. Ie, gleaming give +3 moves/tick, forest green cloak +2 now move regen ain't so important... Glowswords are too powerful. And who the hell would use a spiked war club when they could get an enchanted heavy morning star, or engraved hammer, or ornate? Once you are legend, there is only ONE true fullset you can get depending on what race/class combo you picked. Ie.
Nearly every legend Orc warrior wants full shining metal, ornate hammer or warsword, bej or tower or black buckler, gleaming belt, forest green cloak and an alternative set for defence that consists of an engraved broadsword and a fine grey cloak. Take a legend orc warrior in that set, and pit him against a legend dwarf warrior using a woodsman's axe, thin metal, a regular cloak, a plain belt, and no defence set and the outcome is obvious =( Myself and others liked it when you could tune your weapons at a blacksmith to your preference... but it was removed =(


##This is all I could think of for now, but be sure I will continue to ask for changes as I think MUME has become stagnant, and more changes need to be introduced to make it fun again. I can't speak for the rest of you but when I log on, I type who, talk to friends I see, run off to pk (or re-eq most of the time), and generally don't find that many interesting fights anymore. Alot of us want to live in the past of MUME, but I want to live in the future of MUME, but unless things are done, the present will be the future forever and ever. And alot of people are whining and bickering atm, I won't stick around for that... If its the problem of higher up gods not having enough time (very understandable as rl is way more important), just promote some dependable people to get things rolling. I was told today that there is a waiting list for jobs for Maiar... the way I see it, your supply of Maiar should not be adequate to meet the demand of changes/improvements that this mud is in need of.##
