Today and a bit from Yesterday, in the life of Alweon...

Yesterday... Log on naked and rerolled, prac in rd, get very basic eq, and move west so i can learn some clerical arts from the Druid near Bree. I hear that there are some trolls near bree, so i block myself in while i practice... not even enough time to finish learning BOB, create food, or create water before my room gets scouted by Dalebus... Decide... oh shit... time to leave. Prespam d;open door;s... i go down... i see 6 orcs standing there, i open the door, Sharmak closes the door, my s does not go through because of closed door, and i instantly start to get nuked. I do, however manage to open the door and flee out 2 times, but because the way flee is, i flee right back in... at one point there are 7 orcs and a BN on me inside when i make my final attempt at fleeing out ( I am wounded and no armour ). I MAKE IT!!! I type s,e,n, and before my commands can go through Zanetha, and Insane arrive from the west and insta hit me to dead.

Sure its lame to have 10 on one, but I can live through it... until Prist starts yelling at me that they were more than 10, and that he was proud about it... I think to myself wow, what an asshole... ahh well.. i let it slide and don't even bother posting the whine log.

Today I log on, and things go a little better... even though mocho+3 and tairach+2 are hanging around bree, we manage get get Hannibal to wounded, and Teolin finishes him off near necro. I get a few nice pieces of eq... and go on my merry way, sharing what I did not need with those who died to the mocho group. I then start looking for staff items... I meet an orc near dt, that is hitting me quite nicely... but alas he is too lame to stay and fight even though i was hurt and he was fine... I get a branch and start to come back west when i meet a BN that instablinds me... I think wow... cool... this will be a fun fight. While I am blind i flee once and move ONE room. He enteres from the south, leaves north, and I never see him again... Again.. WTF? I am starting to think that Noone wants a fair fight here... I go to ford and se Kaan who does the ONLY damage in the fight to me and I dont even get a spell on him (nice bolts)... he leaves after ONE bolt, moves three rooms, i enter and begin to cast... and he moves some more west and yells WAVE! Now i am starting to get really pissed off... In all cases I am losing the fight (though the tides might have turned) and in all cases they would not fight the fair fight! Being really pissed off, i just follow Kaan to necro area and Teolin is there... we communicate the locations of the orc, and find that 4 are in necro... The two of us try to fight Kaan and Ruule, but they call Snotty and Tairach to their rescue. Of course we cannot win that one, so we leave, but i stick around to follow tracks. I follow them to legend home north of rickety by bree, and try cast flee Ruune as he was low hps from Teolin's bash, and my three bolts. My plan is instantly ruined when Tairach stands up, smites me and TICKLES me, yet i get venomed. Well luckily i had remove poison just practiced so I do that. I am now totally bored with the PK, so I go help a group of three do willow because we heard that the orcs were near fornost. No sooner do we say GO to our buffer to hit willow, does Maya's glowstick go bonkers... we have been found by the orcs. They kill our buffer and we leave because we are too few to fight three warriors and a shaman when we are 2 poor equipped, staffless mages and a cleric... We move bree, they follow, and we see them not at oermg. We track them (stupid me for not saying that it was pointless to do so, since even if we found them we could not win in those randoms because of the simple fact that we are outnumbered. Unfortunately we find them at the edge of the randoms and they target rightly so, and smoke me... I become poisoned by Tairach's biting warsword... I flee, and not realizing how bad of a situation I was IN... i began to remove poison... I do so and then realize I am fucked in these randoms... i locate barliman (silly not to have key ready), and start to cast teleport... halfway through i am interrupted by Tairach, Snotty and co... I try flee, but have NO luck... I just plain die... I come back to find my scalp sitting at oermg and my corpse looted when i fell. Sure take the fine grey... take the bej... but take the bloody staff items??
Ahh well...

I try put forth ideas to spice up mume and to help improve it and i get flamed =p... This game is starting to lose all its appeal to me... dont be surprised if you don't see me around much anymore... There is still a chance, I'm not gonna kid myself, but I really want things to change, and I dont think that is gonna happen any time soon...

Well... just some corrections about that druidthingie...yes, we were 6 darkies total (my yells were bs as usually while teasing the member of opposite race), scared newbies around bree and didn't find anyone that would have fought us... while sitting on oermg someone had this weird idea of xping on druid and well..that's about it... i myself was surprised as hell to see some elf in druids house...and about overkill.. wtf should we have done? told some of our group to fuck off and get out for 1-2 want to fight vs you+2 mobs solo? No idea where did u get those strange thoughts that we came all there just to nuke you...*peer*

Mume has and always will be dependant on the players to dictate how mortals themselves play, unfortunately you can't hardcore maturity. The players need to change, not the rules.

I got the strange idea when I heard there were darkies near bree, and I had left tracks past oermg a tick before... Then I am scouted by Dalebus... and you really think you're gonna get good xp from 2 mobs with 6 darkies? 2-3 could have easily done that... The question is why would I NOT think you all came there just to nuke me? If you were paranoid of a portal trap, then just say so... but making excuse of 6 darkies for a two simple mobs seems like bullshit to me. Another tip off is that I don't think Snotty has leadership very high, and would not usually be leading 5 behind him...

Can I get a poll on who is actually enjoying the pk lately? My personal opinion is that it is shit.

Agreed Masq... but to think that people actually enjoy groups of 10 fighting groups of 8 (example of course) is way beyond my tiny 19 int and 18 wis comprehension...

but if i meet some1 solo i dont narr dir that hes their only if i notice hes kicking my but i stop and nar maybe orc dt

a friend told me he had a solo fight with his puke mage inside ooc no staff no nothing since he was saurons listed and he was fighting 1 orc with all the mob
he didnt call for any backup and he yelled to the orc if you gone call backup im gone leave and orc yells back no i promise and guess what 10 orcs arrive and kick his but

I mean is that fair? if peapole like huge group fights that much why dont they just make and own mud where their is only 10*10 rooms and the can battle it out 10 vs 10

and when they die just pray for new eq and receive full shining or what ever you need

Just a comment. Duh. Everyone seems to like Labero because he uses wits and balls in pk. The funny thing is, Labero kicks alot of ass solo (Alweon and others would have you think that is not possible). He also dies alot. He also, as far as I can tell, does not complain much. So the moral is. Please shut up, stop whining, and play the game.

well i'll take this in a different less whiny direction...of course they take the staff items! why would they want another 3+ attack staff puke mage to blast them next time they come out.

We didn't happen to be standing on the edge. I always wanted to spam a puke dead in bushes but others told me it wouldn't work! Also, orcs has to go in pretty large groups to be able to pk west, because of the number-realted OB and the powerrangers. I would much prefer to fight with just one follower as i normally do playing puke, but it just doesn't work. If the group doesnt have a good defensive warrior they need to be even more.

Alweon, we went to druid to xp on him. Not too kill you, that was a bonus. You were better xp though, thanks.

The point of the staff item thing is, since orcs cannot use staves and this IS a game, to take anothers staff (or components) when you do not need is poor sportsmanship imo. You are doing nothing but hindering that players advancement, if you DO need it fine, if not you are just being a prick by looting. Since most people do play both sides try to think of this next time you die with your puke mage/cleric and find your staff missing (and think how much you'd appreciate if it was left).

and from what it sounds Alweon first heard there was orcs bree and then went druid solo Anyways, which is just stupidity on his part and he probably shouldn't whine about this. I rarely complain about large groups near the opposite cities, it's when you run into large groups who patrol from greenway - bree - ford - abr - dt - noc, never reducing their numbers, and slaying whatever they can find that it becomes lame (The name GINLON comes to mind, as well as Norsu). Raid groups have all rights to be large groups, and due to rangers, demon wolves, and probability of running into large amounts of enemy players they should be large groups.

My last comment on this is the players policing themselves. See, about a year or so ago the average mume player was much less skillful, and played puke. The advanced players who were fewer would play darkie and could slay the puke players by the hoards with fewer numbers. Now though, this situation is pitifully reversed. The average mume player is very knowledgable, due to access of logs, lack of new players, and lack of new zones/equip. The average skill of mume players is averaging out, so few players stand out above the rest anymore. But these better players now take to the puke side for the extra firepower and advantages to compenstate for this, and to try and take the lead they once had when the majority was clueless. And the newer players wanting to try new things, and a few old stubborn hasbeens are all you find on the darkie side. (Unless Norsu logs in, because a whole slew of you clueless fucks out there love to follow him around and spam whine him to join his group or beg for equip for god knows what reason). And that's it, that's mume today, and it sucks.

Right...orcs can't use staves, but don't forget that bns can...lately i've seen a lot of bns with staves around (including myself) and for that reason i completely understand why did they loot staff components...

Like i really care now (i was hot headed when i wrote that), but I am so sure they gave my opal, and branch to a bn... the branch is bloody useless to any darkie, yet i still always see one sitting at kormock, dropped by asshole tree looter orcs =p

And yes, it was not the brightest idea to run into druid (without a stored port anyhow) with those darkies around, but i blocked the door behind me, and was in there for under 45 seconds... musta just been bad timing on my part and quick bashing by orcs... still... fucking lame that i probably would lived even vs 8 until i lagged at that last second before Insane and Zanetha entered =p

Comforts man, but really cant say the same. Last week i had like 10+ nice fights
maybe didnt meet any huge group and had a lot of fun, tho no good kills and lost
one full set :) Pukes are getting brave i must say and i must pick up that Bree
dwarf that eat 2 fballs and 5 bolts and didnt even try to flee, tho he was awful...

I say go solo avoid huge groups and pk in zones you dont know -> that's way to have fun

Hm I think it was insane who came up with the idea to xp on druid and it was the trolls who bashed the block off so quick (tried to break but resisted :P), they didn't arrive later etc...

oh, i read it now.... wanna know why noone fights you? becuse puke-casters are overpowered... thats it, plain and simple... sure i try fight em anyway, and yes a caster with not too good eq is very killable.... but the most casters you meet is ppl like galadon, snowy etc that has full set, maxstaff etc... that really makes you sick and tired of fighting such characters..

Well, Labero dies a lot these days because of how things are with the groups ruling all, but in the days when you actually -could- solo pk, he sure as heck didn't die often.

Labero did too die alot in the 'olden days' Cur, with many of his diff chars. His groupmates died alot, WT members died alot, it was a fun war we had going. Petter is a badass player, but don't forget he also plays on a link that is insane compared to many of us.
