*a Dwarf* crushes a highwayman's right arm extremely hard and shatters it.
Your blood freezes as you hear a highwayman's death cry.
A highwayman is dead! R.I.P.

.........well then I die to 4 hitters pretty quick. The man got a lucky
bash on me and i was done for mostly.

4 LOS while the dwarf was only fighting one highway man.
Pretty stupid if you ask me. I died mostly to disbelief than to the
puke skills, I think :)

Comf =(

Ick comfort Adi. What's your per btw?
I found some noname pukes in Wrydda yesterday, I went for quakes
because of the line of sight thingy. They turned out
to be 4 quite high level warriors. They whacked me good and
proper too. IMO Line of sight when you are fighting solo is a joke.
Nightchill2001-01-18 18:22:41
Noticed it myself. As a solo player against a group it really sucks. Only one of
them need hit you and then you can get LOS on the others (unless you're a quake whore!).
It would be really nice if solo players got a few advantages. I don't really care
which member of the group I hit (the target would be nice, naturally!) but any char broiled
puke is good enough for me!
Prist2001-01-18 18:44:42
Ehh.. how many times have I said that this LoS stuff is bugged? *comfs Adi*, something similar has happened to me as well... :(
baphomet2001-01-18 19:10:53
*comf* I HATE THIS "FEATURE" !! IT MAKES NO SENSE. stop throwing a ball of fire at dwarf---why?? because elf is in the way?? WTF!! CHANGE THIS PLEASE IT IS STUPID FUCKING STUPID
Jocke2001-01-18 19:19:41
Try cast faster spells if yoy get noline on the first try or two. A faster spell has
less chance to break due to no line of sight. Even quck fireball could have worked
in this case, or maybe bolt.
Idea - Alweon2001-01-18 19:44:20
No more los. Spell should still go through, but just have a chance of hitting something else either buffing, hitting, or assisting the target. Hugegroup fights would be WAY more interesting, and hopefull less common. ( Perhaps we would get groups of 4+ warriors running about arda though =( That would suck. )
Like I said though, just an idea to kick around...
Reivax2001-01-19 02:05:07
imo los is a good feature, spells aren't exactly guns, you can't just aim in the general direction and unload. Instead you have to recite each incantation carefully and unleash it. If all incantations is not perfectly executed you will backfire. Thus it might be even better if you'd backfire'd instead of getting line of sight, if it is gonna make perfect sense. That'd make bns unplayable though, so just be happy with the way it is?
Melko2001-01-19 05:33:34
I dont see them pukes get any trouble with spelling me :)buggers

grunge2001-01-19 07:38:45
i hafta admit i feel the same way about los...it sucks ass especially when you are solo vs like 5 pukes and are trying to make a run of targetting someone...
of course, they never seem to ge los when it comes to that bash or fball :p
Astar2001-01-19 12:37:07
I remeber i solo entered on awful dwarf in Amanrandil, and got 2 LOS on stored fireballs because mobs hit me first *glare*. bugged system.
dur2001-01-19 12:45:49
I was 1.*man* in there by the way...others were mzulia, adrien and thengul. Comf to Adi: we have been lucky.
Khantar2001-01-19 12:53:02
There should be a mood you set, where you decide whether you are careful or not.
In careless mode you unleash the spells no matter what. Be it friend or foe thats on the receiving end. For playability and bunnyhugging-happypuppypatting-flowerloving reasons: spells hitting friendlies would do 1/3-1/4 damage.
Nightchill2001-01-19 14:38:46
Reivax: backfiring and LOS are two different things. Backfiring depends on reciting the
spell properly but LOS means that when you unleash the spell there is something in the way
and you can't hit the target. Now tell me it's more likely that, after finishing the spell
properly and pointing it in the direction of your enemy that it just does nothing
or it will instead just hit the first thing in it's path. If there is someone from your
side in the way then you may stop the spell, but if it's an enemy why would you want to?
David2001-01-19 21:07:47
los is a good thing, anoying as hell.. but good.. *an nsl* sends you sprawling
David2001-01-19 21:13:11
heh.. im to fast with the *save* button.. ok.. *an nsl* sends you sprawling. *lots of nsl* have arrived from the south-east. *tons of nsl* utter the words 'colour spray' 'call lightning' 'mutta' 'magic missile' =P
