Something should be done about labs. Limit the number playing/logging in from them etc. Regardless of the virtue of Darkangel's protestations of Zaber being ill, it is the apperance of impropriety that dooms the very idea of a lab. In essence, in an internet based game, labs are cheating per se.

Just a bit sick of ppl whining about labs... I mean, ok I see your point about that labs have advantage in PK, but is it KTH, LTH, NSL:s fault? If -YOU- had the opportunity to play in lab with your rl-friends, I bet you would too. And 'every lab cheats, blabla...' like Fingeror said a long time ago, it's so much funnier to target your rl-friend and -maybe- even kill him/her, than target someone you don't know (like when NSL played darkies and all targetted Nowyr, who died!) etc... And many ppl whine about that NSL never give anyone eq but lab, and that is just so damn wrong that I have to laugh :) p(Bobbie) would never give p(Feon) eq for an instance, and Zaber -ALWAYS- give eq to people who died following him when he has spare. It's not a lab-thingie to give eq to each other, wouldnt -YOU- give eq to a 'friend' you know on MUME (or group much with) who needs, rather than give some unknown one? I know that -I- would give some ppl on mume eq before I'd give some NSL:ers. (*tickle* Koljat and Dorak :)

Darkangel: If you look at my other posts re: labs I have stated that we would all use them if we could. That said, it does not matter if the motivations of lab mates are pure, its the apperance of impropriery that is the problem. Labs offer a huge adavantage and an awfully strong temptation for misuse. I think a solution would be to ban them as much as possible no matter how good or decent the labbies themselves are.

Maybe it's just me but it looks like all zaber is doing is standing outside door and spamming kill orc. I read the log 3 times trying to find him *TARGETTING YOU* as you claim. all i see is him constantly hitting 1.orc. he hits ramtir when he's 1.orc and you when you're 1.orc. how is this targetting you? He doesnt even CHASE you, just stand outside the door spamming kill orc.

Lab groups never give me shit they hoard like crazy they should be limited to 2-3 connection from a single URL would that really hurt anyone the only reason you guys play is cause you know you have a huge advantage

Not at all, dear 'I'm-afraid-to-show-my-name', I play from home much more than I play from school (i.e lab), and have 56 k modem at home that sucks ass, I have 0 advantage when I play from home, but I play because I think it's fun.

Well, I won't comment on the other stuff here but I sure as hell know Zaber doesn't spare eq to those following him with a priority higher than his lab. Lab loots, lab keeps is what I've seen in action.

Dorak imho i can only recall that into one fight, and that was at bbt like a year ago(?). I looted a gleaming that i gave away to someone in lab, that was with on kills, then you asked me for gleaming, and i told you who i had given it to and told you to talk to him. And really, if i had to choose if i should give eq to you or to some other jerk, it whould be that other jerk! *hug dorak*

I would like to add on to the ongoing discussion about labs. First of all i understand many of you people whining about lag advantages, indeed like Darkangel i sometimes play from home (with my 14k modem, which is just horrible), most other time i play from work. Now we (.lv) gather every friday evening in an internet cafe for the -whole- night (22.00-9.00) JUST TO FUCKING PLAY MUME. There are many reasons dor it. First of all because MUME rocked, rocks and always will. Second because those people are my FRIENDS, and I go there and pay $5 every Friday night from my $70 monthly salary, just to see them, speak and chat about MUME. Don't you all ever get happy when talking to a friend who won some nice fight or smth else bla bla bla ?? And the third reason : yes it's a lab. But as you can see I stated the reasons why i go to that I-cafe in the order of importance. MUME is awesome, but it's not my whole life. And if every friday night I can see my friends, drink a bottle of beer with them - hell yes i'm gonna go : be it MUME, Diablo, Half-Life or IRC. But indeed we have to admit that a group of 4 from a lab can beat a group of 5 which is not in one lab. Mainly because of the ease of communication. But that's the way it is :) All this talk about : ban labs or place everyone in labs seems alike to me like : A fucking beggar saying "Take all money from rich peiople and give it to me, cause i dont have shit (yeah, and my ass is too lazy to make some money). ***but this is just my opinion***

personally I have no problem with fighting a group of players who are in a lab, it's the suspicion of them cheating that bothers me. I like the unknown's idea of all players from the same site must log in the same side, but something needs to be done about ainu from labs as well. I mean, cheating or not, if for example, me and alweon had computers next to each other and he sees narrate "*Puke* narrates 'luring nazgum be ready'" he's gonna tell me. So obviously lab players are gonna do this to, and I can't really blame them it's their real friends, it just needs to be prevented somehow (My preferencial is that, all players from one site must log on same side, and then ainu from that sight can only here that sides narrates, that would reduce it a little, since tells and snoops can be traced.)

of 5 legends... If you are in lab with people you know them rl
and can easily decide what you will play. Also, if you don't
both have chars on each side to play, the answer is simple...
Make new chars or wait til the people playing the other side
from your lab are done (I think 30 min rule should apply to that
as well).
