Rocking
Rûkan2001-03-16 01:04:56
Well at least you managed to do it manually instead of all that clientspam, with all my 1 letter aliases for everything I never managed to remember what did what, so using longer ones now!
Unknown2001-03-16 01:08:47
too bad ginlon wasnt berserk and you didnt lose link or that would have been a great log
Alweon2001-03-16 01:09:11
Not bad =)
Fyre2001-03-16 03:39:57
Impressive :) *bow Gin, Figgie*
Sloshed2001-03-16 05:53:19
fingeror i like you and i got no problesm with you but you are hypocritcal i remember you telling me quake is for losers, and that have no skill and suck and for pussies and etc etc, and that you would never use it with any char yet you using it now, i do find this is a nice log smart thinking and glad to see it end this way very brave of you two.
Alweon2001-03-16 06:26:51
Technically quaking isn't as lame as it was before since it does less damage now. I have used it since I made this char, and I will continue to use it since it is very effective for different situations (not necessarily pk). I died to 4 bns a couple weeks ago with hot mana and 5 stored quakes in a one room trap. Talk about stupid me, since I never even tried to cast once.. I just forgot about em *chuckle*
Delilah2001-03-16 08:58:49
After a few deaths in tbad quaketraps I decided to train it off on my mage, but after most recent changes I feel it's more balanced/fair and I don't mind using it now. While you could still say it takes no skill, it's not such a wizkill anymore.
Tony2001-03-16 10:20:52
Yes it does less damage but its still enough !
Good work anyway ginl,fingeror
Torment2001-03-16 11:23:34
Fingeror was an accessory, a sancted Ginlon could prob have beat all 3 bns just piercing them hehe.
Ginlon2001-03-16 12:52:17
Well, 30 mins after this, i DID lost link at nexus
inside warrens, with 4 of us whiteys fighting 6 darkies...

Came back in Hall of Mandos, and darkies looted..

So...
The brave Unknown got his will through this time...
Unknown2001-03-16 13:48:37
Shouldnt darkies loot but instead leave the eq for you or your friends to pick it up? In several logs I have seen the description or explanation that that would be illegal, ie give eq back(by not looting), it was not a bug or anything and I dont know if you were linkless or not(wasnt there). Perhaps somebody would explain when its ok to not loot an enemy corpse for him or his friends to pick it up without doing an illegal action... I sure cant decide...
Gimilzor2001-03-16 14:09:59
Well, well done Jocke and Chris. We sorta figured you had planned that for long but hey, I can't blame you for not being ballsy anyway, but we'll get back to you! Don't worry!
Rogon2001-03-16 14:38:59
I havent heard it said anywhere that giving eq back by _not looting_ would be illegal. Then you would need to have rules that you must loot in pk, which is as retarded as it sounds. But if you do loot, its illegal to give it back after.
Stormblast2001-03-16 15:15:48
Bullshit, Rogon. You don't loot = sympathy towards opponent = rules interrace violation = level 1 (plus deletion of character). Don't even try to argue, for I've taken a special course in that bullshit and if I fail to explain, I know a Vala or two who will do an excellent job at it.
Malak2001-03-16 15:51:20
Which would be a dumb rule. One man's trash is another man's treasure. If i see a bunch of crap in a corpse, I am not gonna loot. Or if I see something that may be decent like MDA, but I still don't need it, I may leave that as well. That rule will never be enforced.
Grimble2001-03-16 16:00:36
Nice one. Dunno why some of the people on mume dislike quake. Quake is one of the best spells in the game for the reason that it can bust up traps and hurt groups - the two biggest plagues of mume today (if it would rem poison too it would be perfect!). Its less effective than fireballs vs a solo player in the open, so its not like some "superspell" or something. 2 stored calls would do way more damage than 5 stored quakes. It is in no way lame to use quakes, and I chuckle at people who say how lame quake is then go around in groups of 5 all the time, or go sit in a trap waiting for someone to enter.
Vanimelde2001-03-16 16:05:36
En werwolf slog sönder mig till bad utanför. Eh-he! Was a nice plan, and as Gim said, we figured you had planned this for a while? And the fact is that only Gimilzor had 2x fireball stored, neither me nor Inziladun had stores - outcome
of your survival could've been different? Hoppas ni är stolta era svin, nästa gång är det vår/min tur! /;)
Stormblast2001-03-16 16:13:06
Well there was a time when I thought that it is impossible to enforce the rules interrace too. Actually I still do, but now we know that 'unable to enforce' does in no way mean 'not punishing'.
Jocke2001-03-16 16:36:55
You're absolutely right Sloshed, I hate quake and think the spell is plain silly.
This log proves it. I walk in without sanc and still beat the shit out of 3 good
BN players by just typing "quake" a few times. But i guess it's better now when
the damage is lowered. As a BN i could easily eat 2 fireballs and still be able
too continue the fight, but when i met a quaker i was low wounded after 2 quakes.
Lets say we were 2 BN. If i was eating 2 stored fireballs i would still be able
to hunt and my fellow BN would still be in mint condition. If we however fought
a quaker, both would be low hp after 2 stored spells and we would have to run
away fast before the quaker released THREE!! more of his stored spells, wich
would mean death to us both. The problem with quake is that you do more damage,
it costs less mana and you can store more then twice as many of them, as the
next best alternative, fireball. I think it makes most fights boring. I do
like to use quake in an exping purpose though. so don't call me a hypocritical
sloshed, for trying it out once and that i show you all that even if you're totaly
lost in the fight ( like my fuck up with the client) you can still win the fight
using quake, just cause it's so damn powerful. i would like to see the level of
quake be raised a few so that you can store less, lets say 3 spells, then it would
be fine. That or lowering the damage even more.
Rogon2001-03-16 16:50:02
Stormblast, what you were demoted for was something _completely_ different, dont confuse chatting with an enemy, planning how to do a battle somewhere with him, etc etc, with not wanting to loot a corpse. They're not even close to the same thing. And i think you realise that without too much thinking. Just go on and present one single case where anyone was punished or reprimanded for not looting a corpse and i'll agree with you.
Stormblast2001-03-16 16:56:38
Wow you did take it seriously! And here I thought overestimating you is impossible.
Stormblast2001-03-16 17:00:20
By the way that is something for you to think about - you can bend the rule easily in a situation where
Stormblast2001-03-16 17:05:06
By the way that is something for you to think about - you can bend the rule easily in a situation where corpse is not looted to the nonlooter's disadvantage. I mean there really is a threat of some hideous conspiracy here, so why not root that possibility up asap? Yeah, ridiculous, but as long as the rules here can be bent all the way to idiocy and the ones to deliver the justice seem to be assholes/cowards/morons (i am not sure which) weäll just have to sit back and wait. The party has just begun!
Udo Spears2001-03-16 17:38:40
hmm was i bored... great narrate!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *blush*
Grang2001-03-16 18:56:33
I am the master at bending/hiding behind rules!! cackle
Arkine2001-03-16 20:30:46
Er...Ginlon come back to the dark side. Much too quiet without you :(
Natash2001-03-16 21:17:06
GIGGLE... that's why i don't bother with different settings... got my keypad for the basics, the rest is in aliases... ok, sometimes my mage tries to escape the fight, but who cares anyway... Just remember u used telnet once, then some1 told u about alias command ;)
Natash2001-03-16 21:18:57
Oh, and i use 2 different clients, which lead to different settings... THAT is loads of fun too (on *orcie*... 5x fryball, check for amulet -> has amulet -> decision to switch from spray to bolt -> 4x spray... *orcie* hurt...
Shala2001-03-16 22:21:40
It was not the overpowered quake that won this fight actually it was Ginlon's great link and great closespam. Eating store-spells is stupid no matter if it's quake or fball or spray, but in this case the bns couldn't open the rock and flee out... If the bns had equal link/spammingskills they would have been out after first quake, close the door so you loose hps to the wolves, and when you come fleeing from the room the nuke you to little pieces or at least escape with their skin intact. In general quake is mostly good for nuking groups solo and that is a VERY good thing to have in the game.
Shala2001-03-16 22:23:35
Ah in this fight if you first unstore 2 fballs on wounded Gimilzor (r.i.p) and then nuke the rest with quickbolts you would have won aswell prolly just a tad more difficult.
Unknown2001-03-16 22:36:31
NSL have the best link.
Mammoth2001-03-16 23:31:18
Blaaaaa BLaaaaaaa BLAAAAAA
Rûkan2001-03-17 03:13:46
Nod its very good to have spells that solopukecasters can use to nuke full orc groups in case some stray caster didn't fit in the NSL bashtrap train.
Ginlon2001-03-17 10:26:07
LOL SHALA!!!!!

Ask those BNS, if their or mine link is better...
I have average 300-350ms, with 10-15% packetloss
thgese days.. i use to have a good link yes, at the lab...
I now play through a public modem pool, using Zmud...

Those bns, are NSL, meaning they probably have the best link
on MUME... so you were quite fucking wrong :)
Vanimelde2001-03-17 12:48:03
Snicker Shala.
Shala2001-03-17 14:53:26
Then the bns must have been DAMN clueless... They were prolly spamming close too or smth :P I mean, it IS easy to just open the damn rock and flee out.
Shala2001-03-17 15:51:39

Rogon2001-03-17 16:19:26
There's this thing shala, its called pretype. it means, you can spam close 50 times and then when the first ones come through (after 300ms for ginlon) the rest comes as fast as its possible, no matter what link you have (since they were sent long before they actually can go through in mume with its 4 commands/sec) etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc.
Unknown2001-03-17 16:24:09
Let's look at this closer shala, try and put 2 commands through on 350 ms link before someone with a 20ms link can put 1 command through, it's not gonna happen very often.
Shala2001-03-17 17:39:49
Well they just said the closespammer had shit-link Mr. Unknown... How come the unknowns always write the most stupid comments? (Besides me that is:)
Unknown2001-03-18 01:45:15
Hehe, weren't there anything strange how Ginlon managed to close the rock just before any1 fleed (except for the "lucky" Vanimeldë?
Vanimelde2001-03-18 17:22:27
Alot of clueless ppl commenting here, make your statments into questions instead, then you won't harm your reputation (?) so much.
Ginlon2001-03-19 17:32:56
South, kill *man*, bash, 999*close rock

Very complicated.... They didnt INSTAFLEE cause
they thought they'd beat us... but we had a good
plan, and things went smoothly... this time we had
luck, next time, they will...
