Nahh spells can hurt yeah :) I had about 300 hp left (fine) & 2 quick spells from an elf took me down to awful. & then i ripped cause f****** aggro shadow. Now im sleeping in halls of orcs as naked as the day when my ugly mother gave me a birth.

Well, if you think Moonglum sucks.....I met Vanimelde in tbad.  I ate 2 bolts and a fball to wounded, with full 332 hps to start.  Bolt-fine, bolt-fine, fball-wounded.  Then Vani claimed link didn't matter that much, even though he was confident enough to use that fball on me IN shady.  If I had good link I bet he wouldn't have tried that part :P

Basically same shit happened to me at tharbad.  Dwarf & man vs me and Graendal, of course they sanct up (wussies).  From full hps fresh arm - eat bash, quickharm quickharm, flee back into an instant dispel - one cleave dead.  Maybe I should get some fleetriggers since they dont get punished anyhow and it would save my ass from those spammers that nail ya when ya flee back.  Quick spells do too much damage for their speed and relatively low manacost, specially since you can get +4 attack and shit.  Its ridiculous when u can bashtrap someone dead from ~280 hps (180 hps and fresh arm) with only one caster.  Btw i'm not saying pukes only here, darkies can do the same thing, only not as effectively.

Everyone who claims quickdispel does under 100dmg unless saved is totally wrong. Try lvling a dwarf cleric with bullshit mentals as I seem to have (used to be warriorpriest) and get +4attack, you'll end up doing 100dmg+ quickdispels. On the other hand, just like any other spells they can be saved. I had Väinämöinen quickdispel my orc shaman for 20 hps the other day, yet my battleshaman took 350 dmg from 3 quickdispels and I had armour up for the first one (fell after it). Btw. Sisalik is a total wuss that will never get a solokill or any "daring" kill that makes MUME fun. How much fun do you guys have fighting at ford glowing when orcs show up, then running back rdell? A lot, I guess, since you do it this much.

Hm... dispel bugged maybe ? We had a very strange incident near noc earlyer today, where forek went from Hurt to Awful in one dispel....At the moment i just thought whoa.. that was an easy kill, but when i talked to forek later, it he to had the impression that dispel was doing hellofalot more damage then it usually does :) -Voile

on dispel when it seemed to be having similar effects got accidentally reversed.

The harm spell can't "go through" the armour spell any more then a fireball does, since my armour tends to drop when I get harmed. This would indicate that the armour actually absorbed some damage, right? If not, then the harmspell must be bugged since it's doing full damage to two different things...

I have to agree about the whining.  There is waaaaay too much whining going on.  Personally, the link-whores are the worst.  Those are the people who consistantly play on fast links.  Any fun-loving, fair-playing MUMEr with less than 200ms link should use a modem just to remove the _unfair_ advantage!!

As I said early on in this string of comments. I am positive my armour spell was up when I died. Ok, not positive but almost certain. It was pretty damn late so I could have made a mistake. [been known to happen *blush*] It still 'felt' like those dispels did tons more damage than ever before. *shrug*

Confused, as i understand bns are eff vs sprays.


black amulet protects vs sprays.. and some say also against dispels.


Does that mean spray / dispel are very similar sprays - ie bns are eff vs dispel too?

I was pretty sure one of the advantages of harm was that its damage isn't


reduced by the armour spell. I've no idea what my source was so I'm not sure


whether it's just mume myth or real effect. No doubt those who know won't tell :)
