bug?
Arhar2001-03-19 17:53:55
and ?
SuperDOOD2001-03-19 17:53:59
So?
We all know stored spells are quick, what's your point?
Gonfor2001-03-19 17:56:24
Your bash did enough damage to kick in the Elf's wimpy???
SuperDOOD2001-03-19 17:56:45
Oh, that was wimpyflee, it's ok, really! DONT WHINE!
stolb2001-03-19 17:56:59
bug?
stolb2001-03-19 17:57:25
blah refresh
David2001-03-19 18:04:44
i dont get it..
Arhar2001-03-19 18:05:41
2 sprays but hps healthy, looks like bug.
Arhar2001-03-19 18:06:03
upss i wrong.
Skojardu2001-03-19 18:20:23
That spell speed is a joke?
Arhar2001-03-19 18:29:47
3 stored spells,but where are bug ?
Rogon2001-03-19 18:40:16
Maybe his point is that the elf wimpy fled bashed? which i dont think is a news to anyone you can do with people hitting you, only that spells dont trigger it? or maybe hm or well hm or well, nah never mind. ok maybe, just maybe, he posted the wrong log? it wasnt this he was gonna post, but something interesting and readworthy...
Voile2001-03-19 18:56:03
Well, since i was the little elf, i can confirm that spellcast was quick, 3 sprays were stored, wimpy was at 100/159 hits, and this was a wimpyflee....
But i really dont understand what bug you are talking about...And if you are whining because i fought you at slag-pit with 100 wimpy, alone vs you 3 + mishrak, then you have a serious problem...
-Eldrasil aka Voile
Donna2001-03-19 19:03:54
Maybe the bug is that the elf is hit by a lightning bolt and doesn't lose concentration: starts casting, is hit by LB, utters the words...
Gray2001-03-19 19:15:03
Hehe, Voile, you was indeed lucky here ;) Was complete bashtrap, and you managed to live! And btw, why cast stored sprays quick? Normal do more damage, cost less mana, and not affected by speed because of storing.
Rogon2001-03-19 20:31:20
Donna, thats what stored spells do.
dragóth2001-03-19 21:34:11
the bug is that...cant come up with anything good
Atastor2001-03-19 22:03:17
Well..I think Gonfor discovered the question and the answer: The elf
fled out of bash without being hitted. And I think Gonfor is right in
assuming that the bash damage JUST hit the wimpy-trigger. Thats (prolly)
it.
Fëagil2001-03-19 23:20:59
Now this is what a Vm told me: Hits dont trigger wimpy, spells don't trigger wimpy, if you are below your wimpy every time it's your turn to hit you get a flee attempt. Meaning if you're a smiter you have really sucky chances to live through a bashtrap, on the other hand if you pierce and have lotsa attack pracced you flee more often. I hope this stops some of the confusion obvious in this area.
Edvard2001-03-19 23:59:47
bullshit feagil... i cant count the number of whole bashes i've been through with wimpy set to 300-350, and just cried like a baby and gone to halls.... as crusher... not a sign of a fleeatempt
Voile to Gray2001-03-20 00:20:27
Well... let me think a bit.. why did i cast quick ? I thought log showed that pretty dam well ? I got of 3 sprays before i fled didnt i ? I knew it was a bashtrap, but i took a calculated risq, entered with fresh armour, it was day, blah, blah.. Anyway, you dont get more fun in this game than you make yourself.
Fighting you 3 at slag was fun, and i say that with those 3 sprays, if i had targeted the 'unknown' who posted this log, he would prolly have ripped since he was already hurt...
Lochdale2001-03-20 00:48:36
So let me get this straight: Once your hps go below the stated wimpy you will attempt to flee as many times, and at a rate, of rounds (rounds being both the number of times that you attack and the time period between each attack) that you get whilst in combat. Therefore, if you are wielding a weapon that requires a lenghty round to use you will get less flee attempts then if you were wielding a weapon that requires a minimal amount of time to utilize. Put another way, if you wield a big hammer you'll flee less then if u wield a dainty knife. Is this correct?
To Voile2001-03-20 01:55:06
I just think Grays point was that casting stored sprays in spellmood quick doesen't really improve speed, since a stored spell have the same casting time anyway.
Fëagil@Edvard2001-03-20 02:13:22
Well reason why you die in 1 bash if 3 casters and not if 3 hitters is kinda obvious. With 3 casters you eat 100+hp dispels/sprays with hitters you eat 30-60 hp hits which come SLOWER than those 100hp spells. So if you have wimpy at 300 and you get cast on by 3 casters who all do 100 hps you can guess the outcome.
Fëagil2001-03-20 02:17:34
Also i have no idea if you see failed fleeattemps when bashed. So say you get bashed with 1 unengaged caster in room, at worst you have to wait full hit-delay for first flee, and if that fails the caster has 2 hit-delays to cast spells, means you still eat 3 quicksprays/dispels and still die.
Ethar2001-03-20 02:57:18
thats not bullshit edvard, thats the way it works
Rogon2001-03-20 05:35:56
IF it works like you flee when you're supposed to hit, its seriously retarded. who could possibly come up with a stupid idea like that?
Lochdale2001-03-20 07:13:23
I was actually trying to reach the same conclusion but I think Rogon has but it best.
Trisk2001-03-20 07:15:39
One can clearly see the bug here, the pelf never died!
stolb2001-03-20 08:21:30
the bug is, that a bashed person flees in 0,0001 sec after being bashed.
Paras2001-03-20 09:43:29
It's harder to flee with large weapon than with smaller weapon. Not saying other items, as metal armour, shouldn't matter in this. But It's pretty logical, that the heavier your load is, the more hard it is to flee and run away
Zaber2001-03-20 10:44:32
Hey! If there is a new system I dont know a shit about it, but the old system triggerd if: You ate a hit from someone when your hps were under your wimpy, and you got 1 flee attempt on your hitround, so smiters get less etc etc... And its been so for my whole mume-career. People don't argue with this (!!) I know this like i know my own pocket!
dorfl2001-03-20 11:50:26
mume-career? zaber, you really need to get out
once in awhile
Fëagil2001-03-20 12:18:09
I aint going to argue about shit, but you can argue on this matter with Gothmog (i hope he wont be mad at me), who obviously has a much better chance to read mume code than any of you.
Shadrach2001-03-20 12:38:05
Paras has his mouth so full of shit id like to chop of his head! Why would it be harder to flee with a big weapon than with a small? Are we making references to reality here? Since when did reality have anything to do with anything on mume? UHU? AND even if we allow ourselves to be completely brainfucked, is it harder to flee with a "big" weapon than with a small weapon even in rl? DOH?!
While in fact some little jerk that fight with a toothpick would have been severely hacked to pieces by the other guys HUGE SWORD while he was trying to set the bash trap.

Furthermore, HAS ANYONE SEEN A BASHTRAP IN RL? Its kinda messy
Idun2001-03-20 17:40:26
Feagil was essentially right, but the A+ I talked to was not sure whether weapon
speed was taken into account or not, which means that there is a possibility that
one will try to wimpyflee as often with a warsword as with a broadsword.
Idun2001-03-20 17:41:43
For the record, autowimpy has saved my life on several occasions when I was bashed
and getting hit by spells.
Niccolo2001-03-21 01:47:30
Nod I had heard what Feagil said before from some higher god ... dont remember who it was at the moment. Perhaps someone will verify it. Ha.
Edvard2001-03-21 17:46:11
well, even with hitters i can eat lotsa spells from full hps, and then recover bash and die juuust after... the point is, i didnt even try to flee...... cuz "spells dont trigger flee"
Echo2001-03-22 04:14:37
I may burn for this but.. So what your telling me is that weapon speed can determine flee speed while bashed, so I as an unarmed troll can hold an orkish shortbow, which is pretty quick speed, and still have the damage from unarmed (by merely not shooting for those wondering) and have about double the flee attmepts while bashed. Hell, I gots to find me a sling
