Hung2001-03-24 01:31:16
Huge comf :(
Rúkan2001-03-24 01:53:05
That was NOT a fresh armour, scaly only has 1 thing that really hurts, and thats the bite - can do 100 dmg if your armour is down, yet with a fresh armour you can eat 2 bites, 2nd will drop armour and you'll still be able to get out wounded or so.
Rackhir2001-03-24 01:56:44
maybe for puke mages :p
Golasgil2001-03-24 02:01:59
Does Rukan always talk so much shit?
i was on darkie the other day damn ..nar this nar that
stfu
Moandor2001-03-24 02:07:21
U are not the 1st one!
Rûkan2001-03-24 02:13:59
Yep I do. I very often comment on things when I've tried it out. It does piss people off a lot when I know something :/ It also pisses people off a lot if I give the right kind of advice (like telling people to read helpfiles or play puke!). I also try to make a few lame jokes every now and then, ack ack bad me :(((
Rûkan2001-03-24 02:15:23
And before you get started on it, yes I have mobdied to scaly when I got bashed/bitten without fresh armour, yes I've lived through 2 bites as BN mage, but scaly dt'd itself (still kinda new on doing it but at least I know what I should NOT do to avoid mobdeath :P)
Gray2001-03-24 02:40:51
Use lore :P What did you expect if you are going to do it without lore? I usually spend hour or more gathering components - but at least I'm 99% safe.
Prist2001-03-24 02:42:45
It's boring to play 99% safe, when you know that you might mobrip then it makes things much more interesting imho :)
Durcano2001-03-24 02:45:38
i hope you dont blame me because i told ya its "easy" to do it :P
Reivax2001-03-24 04:58:38
If you do scaly without lore, always ALWAYS use actionflee.
Ethar2001-03-24 07:04:49
ive done it a couple times solo w/o lore, and rukan is absolutely correct, keep armour fresh and stuff like this wont happen, it just takes patience... lots of patience...
Shriek2001-03-24 07:45:06
Don't mind Gray, he takes an hour to get lore stuff, when it takes anyone with bob and a clue about 10 minutes... (quick trip Neni, then priest, then foy, then noc and you got 4/6 components, other one's seasonal, and milkweed loads near Ford sometimes) And using lore, he can still DT himself... Lore only lasts so long, and it takes a certain amount of time to work too
Bulldozer2001-03-24 09:34:46
*nod* shriek, dont i know it :/
Gray2001-03-24 10:04:39
Shriek, you are so clueful and expirienced ;) Today I was trying to find baneberries during all my session of playing (and its more than 10 hours!) - and it simply WASN'T LOADED! You know there can be popped only one shrub at the time? And you know how often berries pop on shrub? 10 mins, don't make me laugh... As about dt'ing even when using lore - well, I never had legend bn, but for puke it works pretty well :P On me it always lasted long enough, and beast never tried to make his dts. And then, you don't get mobdeath afaik if dt'ed at beast - you get plain dt death, but you lose eq! which includes STAFF! so spending time for gathering components worth it :P
rza2001-03-24 10:25:02
good to see some fucking retard euorpean die, try play from australia see how well you do
Rûkan2001-03-24 10:42:39
Erm Gray dear you mean only 1 shrub can pop at a time, or only 1 shrub can pop berries? coz both are bullshit, they only pop during winter months afaik. I know for a fact more than 1 bush pops at a time and more than 1 will load berries too.
Prist to Reivax2001-03-24 14:08:42
I WAS using actionflee :)
Jocke2001-03-24 14:15:25
Actually Scaly Beast and Balrog are the only two reasonable smobs. I would like
killing a smob woiuld involve a lot more risk taking. I don't think an attampt of
killing a fire storming dragon should be a 100% safe mission. Let life and death
be a matter of flipping a coin if you try to kill the bloodwight. Let the dragon
firestorm as often as he pleases. Remove the dragon slumber lore to make Scaly
even more of a challange etc. This would produce less eq and keep ppl younger. :)
Leagel2001-03-24 14:43:29
Im with Jocke!
Vorlin2001-03-24 17:09:18
I think the Balrog's shining gear (and several other pieces of high level gear) should be upgraded to artifact status (or whatever the term is) so that there is only one of them in the game. -Way- too much shining out there, it's sort of ridiculous...
Azg2001-03-24 17:41:25
Actually Gray the milkweed shrub at VT loaded, my lowbie took the berries and dropped em Kormock. =p
Shriek2001-03-24 21:21:58
Damn right Gray... As BN alone I can gather that stuff real fast-like... And there are 7 (that I've counted) places that load baneberry... And if anyone cares, there's no chance in hell I'll be soloing Scaly anytime soon.
Moonshade2001-03-24 23:18:37
Why kill beast if you can kill puke with gleaming? :-)
wucheria2001-03-25 01:28:16
i got 3 full herblore kits from Shriek's corpse
Gray2001-03-25 04:01:54
Azg, we was talking about baneberries, not milkweed. And only pine forest shrub loaded right now - YOU CAN FREELY CHECK IT. And it did load anything neither yesterday nor today - I did checked it like once per halfhour.
Rûkan2001-03-25 07:23:20
Only loads during winter months Gray. And there are like 10-15 shrubs.
Pampalini2001-03-25 13:17:20
Try go e to Crypt and reveal gleaming, sometimes it works :)
Balduran2001-03-25 16:51:49
Scaly can be done w/o lore/actionflee fairly easily, as long you have a decent link :P and no life..... ;)
Johannes2001-03-26 00:46:34
Any attempt soloing a supermob should have a good chance ending up with a mobdeath imho.
Way too may "super" mobs are too easy. Doing the scaly beast in this way is really
asking for a "demotion" :-p
Azg2001-03-26 02:09:17
Heh, Gray no shit. I was talking about baneberries too. *lick*
Lefali2001-03-26 08:55:38
Sometimes when u are bored u have terrible temptation to do something really really crazy :).
Scaly Beast2001-03-27 00:28:15
YAY! I rock!
