I think hugegroups should be avoided in this mud, if hugegroups start poisoning(arachnia, psylonia, venom =byebye) with 3 warrs and 2 casters in it (only group of 5!)
you have like 0.5%chance of escape, especially if the leader in the group has nice link, so to avoid this I suggest leadership should be removed from the game(to make chasing slower) or the chanced of actually getting poisoned from hit smaller(...damn this is a fucked up sentence, oh well, it's late, forgive me)

i think mume should be harder, huge groups aren't 99.5% effective, i have gotten away many many many many times. I'm sure you get frustrated but thats what makes mume good for me. Mume is one of the hardest games i have ever played, if it gets too easy i think i will get bored. If you find you die alot fol one of the great mumers and they will show you how to get away. Nazgum, mochomurka, and jocke don't even cringe at elestirs uber-group. My advice is to pick yourself back up and try again.

I agree 100%. when norsugroup/thwagpack/nslers/other swedes run around
with 5 or so and a 10 ms leader, it's no fun at all to fight em.
make envenom thief again and remove leadership are both great ideas.
another thing, instead of removing leadership, could be having it affect
you negatively in other ways, such as by leading more you get increased
mp loss (since after all, you are trying to keep the group together
and keep the stragglers from straggling!).

I agree with Nazgum. In fact, I posted this idea both here and on a MUME board some time ago. Most players (aside from the hugegroupers and the uberlabbies) liked the idea (at least those who could be bothered to comment on it). MUME management couldn't even be bothered to even take a piss in the general direction of answering the post, so you can figure out for yourself the chances of this ever getting imped. I got a few You-are-such-a-moron-and-a-bad-player flames from the usual gods who have nothing better to do, though, but they don't count anyway since those posts are a reflex reaction on their behalf. Just wait and see, some will show up below this comment, I'm sure. ;-)

Nazgum, you feeling well? You sound like you got a cold. Anyway, I think MUME should go back to sticks and rocks and fur for weapons and armor. Narrates, says, yells, shouts, prays and tells should be reduced to caveman words like 'boog' and 'glinth.' Make missile only practicable by trolls, and have bows and arrows replaced with hobbits with pointy heads tied to sticks. Make Imps and Aratar be able to be pkilled. If you are overkilled, make it so that you can send a message for robots to come over to the overkiller's house and pummel him. Come on people, get real. The hugegrouping, superpoisoning, and overkilling has always been a big question on this mud, and unfortunately, most people adopt the "Well, it was worse before" attitude, and therefore, believe change should be out of the question. What are the odds of something like the removal of leadership happening?

lol Nazgum! I think that removing follow totally would have some annoying side effects, however, I believe that instead of removing follow, you could make it so only 1 person can follow another person at the time. Hugegroups make it harder for newbies to start as well. Although getting pked is good for the learning process. Also, perhaps it would be good to change looting abilities so that a character's corpse who is below say lvl 6 can't have their cash looted from their corpse. < just a suggestion. Also, envenom should be changed to a thief skill.

You are right naz but my idea is to make ppl who are following unable to ack in PK. It seems maybe a bit crazy but why not let them assist only or on other hand maybe give them some +50% dense change to any attack (hit/spell). So when leader with his 6 followers come into a room with single char the followers should not so easy spam hit/nuke him and they become a bit useles for this tactic. Or give to followers auto hitdelay for first hit/spell on PK so they can't insta smite/quickbolt - they are standing after their leader so they shound't insta hit everyone they meet. Let groups and leadership as they are for exping/lowbies where it works quite well.

How would removing follow command affect wether or not people got kills or not? Are you guys really that ignorant on how the WP system works these days? Say Nazgum runs by Lowyn, and a person he considers skilled catches up to him and kills him. Lowyn STILL gets trophy/wps/etc.

well torment, I don't believe Lowyn would ever go east of shire if she wasn't allowed to follow someone, so that simply wouldn't happen. Also the wps you get when someone passes you but does not die to you is VERY small. The basic function of that is if a solo kill on someone is worth 20 wps, but one person kills him after he passes 3, the person who kills would only get like 5, with the other 2 each receiving 1 or 2 each. You have to be in on the kill for the real wps

find some ppl who actually try a 1 vs 1 fight till bad/awful hps.
