Vale2001-04-11 08:59:47
By the way. I just checked my scrollback ... there was NO weather message whatsoever. Lame I say.
Nazgum2001-04-11 09:04:52
Well Call has never been fixed, no matter what no one says, the messages are still buggy as hell. I saw a certain thief skill be removed which worked a hell of a lot better then this spell, and was a lot more important too, so why is this spell not removed yet?
Vale2001-04-11 09:06:03
I copied the entire log from when I left cave until when I died. If some god reads this post and wants the log [to see that there was no weather message] mume-mail me your email address and I'll send it. This is just no fun I tell you. Blah! Fix this crap or disable the spell until its fixed.
*an Elf*2001-04-11 09:16:19
I put lightning up 1 or 2 sec before entering... Nothing is wrong with call.
U cant use it in any condition and control weather takes assloads mana. Also
lightning is eff vs dark... Useful spell vs moors-standing darkies only or
for some smobs.
Unknown2001-04-11 09:18:29
Btw if u put weather up then lightning appears only in 5 rooms: casting room
and 1 dir away from that room.
Vale2001-04-11 09:20:28
Yes, there is something wrong when there was no weather message. Do you think I would have stood there and spammed "k elf" if the fucking message would have been displayed? Fuck no.
Majere2001-04-11 09:21:11
Its a powerfull spell.. But if your solo its almost unusable if you didnt get lucky with the weather from the start. I tried it in bree with a dwarf and i did 227 damage with +0 attack.. kinda harsh? On the other hand.. then poison is fucked and so much more. Mages should rly have some spell like this and i think it works fine.. Its not easy to use and i personally dont use it often at all.. but when i do it rox :P
Vale2001-04-11 09:21:51
It's also funny how *an Elf* won't say who he is ... cause he knows it was a lame tactic and he will get flamed for it - loser.
*whiner*2001-04-11 09:21:55
Yeah fix all spells! Less damages! Or better remove all casters from game!
Add more different poisons to make game more fun!
Vale2001-04-11 09:25:00
Majere, if this is your idea of a 'rocking fight' you are just as lame. I have been roaming around solo from warrens to Cinard both day and nite. Battled Botesia, half-elf solo southern abr ... nearly got half but had to run when moves got VERY low and dwarf showed up also ... close to dying moveless ... those are fun fights ... not shit like that.
Torment2001-04-11 09:33:26
So fucking what that call takes alot of mana to get up. Should I get a 250hp per hit attack for a few minutes cause I spend some rl minutes whetting a weapon? I'll even *warn* you ahead of time with a 'His sword looks extrmely sharp!' message. This sounds fair right? Sounds like it will make Mume more fun and enjoyable?
Vecna2001-04-11 09:57:35
I hate call with a passion, its way overpowered. Call should be a cleric spell so that it can't be stored anymore imo.
Torment2001-04-11 10:07:23
I can see both earthquake and call lightning as cleric spells, seeing as they are nature spells
Majere2001-04-11 10:27:54
Call lightning and earthquake are ways to manipulate nature.. hence mage spells.. Torment: No but you get 1 hit wich drains me of MP's and makes me fall asleep, overpowerd? You get hits wich drains all my mana and often kills me, overpowerd? Orcs gets hits wich causes 100% death if im not lucky and erestor can cure it.. overpowerd? Should you get these things for spending a few minutes? These things allready fucks mume Vale: If nazgum would have gone into a trap with 8 ppl it would have been all good and not lame? A spell only usable outdoors in very special conditions should hit hard.. Call is fine so dont change it.. o orcies die to it? *whiiiiiiiiiiiine* Leave poison, call and everything to itself.. *shrug* lame tactics will allways be there.. But until they remove closeables, poison and bash i say leave call in.
*an Orc*2001-04-11 10:31:16
Through tedious investigation the forces of the dark side have found that Arelia was the brave elf in this log.
Tharain2001-04-11 10:54:21
fucking scary, i have 422 hps only;(
Sharmak2001-04-11 11:13:20
Majere has a fucking big mouth ;P Poisons cant kill u if u are smart, antitote lore is not so hard to get and collecting few plants for it take max 5 mins, almost every right stated puke can have rem poison (since we all know orcs use poison). But i remember once as Nacs i didnt get message of storm, hunted elf alot.. he was hurt and i was hurt (some 280hps) and he starts casting i hit shatter and eat call to incap, is that fun?
Raichu2001-04-11 11:56:39
Call lightning is kinda useful a olog troll can die in 2 calls, just get 2 casters and a warrior and eat a bash have a little freeze or whatever and you are dead, boring like hell. And that it costs a lot of mana to put up weather: yeah it does. But call lightning itself costs as much as a fireball that sucks dick.
Tiamat2001-04-11 12:06:37
now that we're talking about poisons, there is nothing wrong with it, get herbs and get antidote, not that hard, only prob is: psylonia gets your mana down wayyy too fast, should be a little slower, if you're fighting nsl or really nicelinked players, you have to run several rooms to shake them off and remove poison, by the time you do that, psylonia will have eaten all our mana. In combination with arachnia eating your moves, no mana left for a bob can be a deadly combo, make it slower I say. (geez, that was long)
Majere2001-04-11 13:15:21
Sharkman isnt worthy of a comment as usualt.. Raichu: Oki.. i can agree, increase mana cost.. but a solo person has an almost impossible job of keeping the weather up.. and i think 2 mages should be able to make cool things together. :=) Tia: exacty.. if your out of luck tick comes and BAM.. frozen, weak.. fun fun fun..
Moonshade2001-04-11 13:33:59
classic whine log
Liart2001-04-11 13:40:33

I NEVER died to poison and i NEVER made/used antidote, not as darkie, not as puke. A fucking pukeplayer-only shouldnt compare darkie/whitie tactics. Sure I don't like poisoning - its boring to get spampoisoned all the time as puke, you cant charge those orcgroups - but its no where as lethal as the no-weathermessage calls/nslbashtrap-calls (but right, you never bashtrap, and are not even in lab) And SO WHAT if a solo puke have a hard time using it, most people are always in groups anyway.
Majere2001-04-11 14:33:31
Who is a puke only player? If your talking about me you can take that statement and shove it far up your ass where you pulled it from.

Then type WEATHER LOCAL.. ohhh you can do that? try it once in a while.. geez. When 4 orcs are after you and you got psylonia, arachnia its sure as hell dead´ly.. if tick comes at a bad time your dead..
Aschit2001-04-11 15:14:44
Hmm, I remember certain people complaining when they had to spam 'look' in every room, and I know of certain people who still bitch about hitting search q once in a while. I recall the statement being made about how boring/pathetic/etc. it was to avoid stabs. Now certain people are saying that 'weather local' won't be exactly as bad? When stab was too powerful, and you could bash someone then return for a guaranteed stab, it was INSTA removed from the game. Call without weather warning is like stab with a wizinvis thief.
Skojardu2001-04-11 15:24:46
Please majere you sound like a retard when you defend call lightning - i agree on poison do - not that it affect me except the freaking sunray poison.
Elistan @ Torme2001-04-11 16:30:58
My dear Torment, Clerics only cast heals of the healing aid. They are pure good and do not meddle with the arcane magic which involves the elements. Sorcerors and Warlocks meddle with the arcane magic. What you said was funny and I had to reply.
Arkine2001-04-11 16:57:40
Elistan: Get a life.
Ancaruin2001-04-11 17:03:32
Gee, what a whine, this is the first log I've seen where some gets not 1 but 2 calls. If you had toasted the mage, you would post the log about what a great kill you had. Instead, you get fried and bitch about the power of call lightning. Then you ask the powers to change it. So you died. The little elf was lucky and you were not. Buckle up and be an orc. Bitch less and kill more.
Rackhir2001-04-11 18:03:32
Sharmak well antidote might be easy to get but so is weather local command?
Rackhir2001-04-11 18:08:29
And call is nothing comperd to portal traps huge overkill traps bla bla....If you cant avoid stab trap or call you might ass well die :)
Grimble2001-04-11 18:23:46
Damn whiners....buhu call is overpowered. Then you faggots just get in a huge orc group and go around poisoning everything in your path or portal 10 trolls into a trap. Which is more lame? Is it really that hard to type weather local? You can even make a nifty little alias for it like 'alias wl weather local' - i'm sure most of you actionwhores out there can figure that one out. And Torment, I'm pretty sure you can even make aliases on your oh-so-shitty telnet. Pretty soon you people will start whining about how solo players are too overpowered since one got away because you got line of sight when you attacked him with your group of 5. If you are gonna use lame tactics of your own, quit your fucking bitching about the tactics of others - it just makes you look like a fucking idiot.
Vale2001-04-11 18:32:37
I agree with Aschit. The spell is fine. The 'bad weather' message needs to be fixed is all. Why use the spell if you know its buggie and quite unfair to other players? Sure, one of my characters used to portal-trap half the time and solo the other half. It's often difficult to 'control' the groupsize of these fights. So that character decayed portal and hunts solo 99% now. Vale mostly hunts solo and does not use poison - even though he is a solo, pure orc warrior. I will continue to post 'whine logs' to expose any player who uses lame tactics like this, linkless killing etc.
Arelia2001-04-11 18:51:52
My dear Vale or smthng. Go home, eat, drink and go to sleep ...
First you didnt die in 0,5 secs but in like 4-5. After first call u had enough time to flee. Besides moors is not for orcs! Also scrolled back log later and
weather local did show lightning.
Vale2001-04-11 18:59:57
I'm sorry but it was NOT 4-5 seconds, it was almost instant. One second at most. And I did NOT receive a weather message. Maybe you did INSIDE of Rivendell but I did not outside. Please stop trying to defend your lame tactics.
Mouser the Griz2001-04-11 19:19:02
Vale quit your whining and act more like that stud Moonglum ....... you don't
see him whining. ;)
Unknown2001-04-11 20:16:21
it might as well be .5 seconds because he only got 1 command in during that fight thanks to hit lag
Rogon2001-04-11 22:58:11
Grimble, i can promise you, if the people i usually play with and me ran around with 4 mages doing stored call shit on everyone, you and everyone else would whine *ALOT AND FUCKING ALOT* more than you do about poison. You get no message, no chance to know it, and if there's 3-4 mages, ANYTHING dies and if its good timed, without even a flee attempt. I dont see how you can compare THAT with getting poisoned.
Galerech2001-04-11 23:22:05
ROFL@ARKINE
Grimble2001-04-12 00:01:00
Well Rogon my point was that people here were whining that call is lame and overpowered, but the same people use different lame overpowering tactics themselves. Using poison with a hugegroup is much more efficient and deadly than call lightning will ever be because of the mobility of the poisoning group, and the lack of mobility of the target that just ate 3 poisons. Do you see a message in the zone saying "you smell the poison of a grey spider in the area" or have a command that would tell you if there is poison in the area? NO. Is there a command to see lightning in the area? YES. You can type weather global at NOC and see if there is fucking storm activity at BM if you want to. Maybe you havent read that help file yet or something, but there IS a chance to know there is lightning in the zone. Also, I'm sure everyone would be really fucking glad if you dropped your poisonwhores and got 4 callers instead, cause then they could just avoid the lightning. Besides, the group would run out of mana really fast since I can see right now all they would do is follow you around and spam 100x cast quick 'call' @target and would probably still try to cast stored calls when outside of the lightning. It would actually be worth quite a laugh I'm sure. I guarantee Rogon that you wont ever hear me whine about call lightning because it is easily avoidable by just typing a single alias.
Skojardu2001-04-12 02:10:18
Grimble - so you tell me you stand still and type an alias while some1 bashes you just to check if its lighting up?God you sound even more like a retard then majere.
Samurai2001-04-12 06:35:57
Ok, I've tested poisons and they really aren't all that bad. Psylonia sucks like 30 mana, Arachnia is actually dangerous if you happen to get it just before tick, but either of them you can use scrolls, spells, or other lores to save yourself. The problem with call is that you are D E A D. Not slow, not cold, dead. Things like stab I can take, because you have a big risk as a stabber: low mps from sneak/track, and gotta stand there hoping you're not seen while stab goes through. But bashtraps and 200+ hp spells are a different story...there's no risk. The elf in this log had like 0 risk to his life, assuming that Vale wasn't bashtrapping for some calling bns (how many bns do you know that have call?)
Rogon2001-04-12 07:34:38
well grimble, weather local is all fine, but if the zone you ENTER has lightning and there is enemies in that room (not so hard to arrange with the where command). You cant really check, or are you trying to say that you know 1. where all zones start/end and 2. that you dont hit an enemy when you see it in a room you just entered without typing weather local first?

As for poison being much deadlier. Huh? Almost noone dies to poison, the "3 poisons at once blaha" is total bullshit. who did this ever happen? I cant remember any of my groups ever giving someone 3 different poisons. Antidote is easy to get, ingredients easy to get, anyone can prac rem poison, dont need many pracs and its mana cheap.
Grimble2001-04-12 15:33:10
Well Rogon if noone dies from poison, why spam it on everyone? Just to be annoying? It looks to me from the logs here and the constant narrates of people dying from arachnia that it maybe has something to do with a few deaths here and there. I am not saying that you need to type weather local every time u see someone, but if you know they are a caller or you know people have been using it, is it really that hard to check for lightning? If you are so concerned about getting instantly killed by 10 callers, i'm sure you can muster up the juice to type an alias. On the other hand, why should everyone have to practice remove poison and kill hillmen 30 times for the antidote lore to load, then spend time finding herblore ingredients just to be able to leave Rivendell? Sounds like a lot more work than typing "wl". And Skojardu, did you sniff too much glue again? Who said anything about not fleeing from bashes to check weather? Where did a bash occur in this log or in my previous posts? I believe the discussion was about call vs poisoning hugegroups - not bashtraps. If you are looking to suck Rogon's dick, at least get your facts straight first.
