stormblast bn is not about being overpowered its about difficulty. if you think its too hard dont play? think of it as a normal computer, puke being the easy setting orc normal and bn hard

that said stormblast i think you play bns very well and are my favorite :P

Its all well and good to say, its a game, play how you want, use the loopholes, abuse things which need fixing. However, the essence of the argument SHOULD be, it is a game and therefore should be played for enjoyments sake - nothing else. I couldnt give a crap if I never warlord, I couldnt give a crap if I never kill another puke in my entire life. What I do care is that I can log on, talk to some friends, help people level up, go for a trip to Moria with a great bunch of guys. These are the reasons I play mume, and really anything else should be secondary. While Im at it, playing however you fucking well want also has the added detraction that it impinges on others fun in the game. Yes I hear people whine about being overkilled, bashtrapped, poisoned (play troll, yer immune!) and a myriad of other complaints. Joining the ranks of those who use these tactics doesnt solve any problems, it just makes them worse. Im not whining here, I couldnt give a crap if i get overkilled or whatnot, its funny more than anything. But playing any way you want just detracts from the game for all the other people who like to log on and have a bit of a poke around. I did not write this to insult anyone re their playing styles, far from it. I just think people should stop whining about whining and play the game to enjoy it.... If its no longer fun then why keep playing?

I get the impression that a good majority of MUME's immortals and playerbase act like bitter old maids whose lives passed them by. They grumble, bitch, and groan every time they play. So I wonder, why do they play?

Its hard for orcs to be overkillers when you type who l on the orc side and on average get 5-6 legends. Typing who l on the puke side usually reveals 14+. More people play puke so obviously the puke side is going to overkill more. I think this log displays perfectly why we need an account system implemented quickly since 13/20 comments were posted by uknowns. Personally I would love Gothmog to disable the comment feature until he finds the time to fix this page up...

I dont care if Grave is a moron, if it was 1v3, 2v3, or 27v3. I don't care if you're a dwarf or a bn. The only point to playing solo bn is so that ppl can't whine when you kill them; if they do, everyone will laugh at them. Playing solo bn was the only time I really enjoyed MUME pk. I wholeheartedly agree with Grave. When ppl whine when they die, they just make MUME unfun. And if you must whine, whine to your friends not your enemies. Your enemies probably dont give a shit.

The whining wasn't a problem until mume.net logs. Because before that, there was no reliable media for whining. If you don't want to see/hear people whine, just say "no" to mume.net. I would, but I'm too addicted to logs.

Oops! Anyway long ago in the bad old days people could drop link at any time to
save there asses. Now they can't do that, they can use some linkdrop protection
etc. So now instead of deliberate linkdrop we have this whole "code" of conduct
that has sprung up as regards the war. The reason for this IMNSHO is that the
same few players dominate the warlord standings on each side of the battle. So
they enforce this "fairplay" concept. However it mainly only applies to the
superlinked/maxeq/.se/.de people, overkilling or trapping North American
players is less of an issue since they will rarely have the ability to exact
revenge.
