It's some ideas I've seen/thought of recently. Unfortunately since Mume doesn'

I posted on boards in Mume too, but you get player feedback here at least,
even if no gods see, which is better then 0 feedback that I usually
get on the boards
Yanze2001-06-26 07:25:30
i think thats really neat brah..sounds interesting and creative..I agree on most of these or maybe all of this..
Gräve2001-06-26 07:25:34
I like the senses idea. Would help newbies sense bad areas that
usually kill them before they know something is bad there. You need
to learn code, Naz, and give it a hand here or your own MUD.
SMAUG is a nice codebase but the documentation in the code sucks.
Nazgum2001-06-26 07:30:36
I have coded some (read very little), and offered to help on mume,
and was told after 3+ months of begging that I could map rooms for
hardened rangers from GH to Bree with no promotion, so I said no
and remorted my useless god
Unknown2001-06-26 07:55:23
whos your god
Nazgum2001-06-26 08:14:27
was aragil, he autodeleted after being remorted I think
Alweon2001-06-26 08:20:08
It seems that mume management would rather redesign the old east road, or add new zones like oie or vale rather than improve on actual gameplay. I would vote for some bugfixes and newer or updated features rather than another zone that captures my attention for 6 rl hours and then its just old news. But as always, complaints fall upon deaf ears when dealing with management, which is why I don't show my puggy face much anymore. I really have better things to do (finally =p).
Nazgum2001-06-26 08:24:31
Alweon lies, he, like the rest of society, has nothing better to do, but likes to pretend he does ;)
Daevia2001-06-26 08:33:18
I think its more a problem with people that actually know how to code for the game not caring/being on as much as in the past. But I don't have a immort so I know jack shit. :P
Valir2001-06-26 08:58:49
Vote for me! I can promise that as soon as I get my V+ level I make barrels of beer loading all over the arda, rangers will be removed, whole game will be remade as it was in mume 6 or maybe even 5, warpoints will be back, Stormie will get his reimb, Dain will be demoted to M level, the power of poisons will be reduced a little, pare will be back and many more good changes coming up! Hmmm... bah, I will never get even Mc level but it is sooooooooo nice to dream of being a V+ :/
Unknown2001-06-26 09:11:52
how do you level as god
Unknown2001-06-26 09:20:02
The idea was suggested to implement touch/smell/listen before Nazgum. The problem with this is we would be worried about a game where everyone was trying to "touch" Magica's tits, "smell" the vile odor of Fingeror's brown finger or "listen" to Nazgums whining.
to unknown:2001-06-26 10:18:09
gods level by doing enough work to get a promotion. or in some cases by sucking enough V+ dick.
faint2001-06-26 10:29:18
well i agree to most said here. much to alweon about new areas instead of fixing old shit, for example the old tbad bakery/weaponsmith key bug
been here for ages and i have told like atleast 3 valas to fix it and it is a small bug so i bet it would take like....what, 5 min?
*PARE*2001-06-26 10:29:56
Gothmog shouted once from sky during last cpl weeks 'what is most fucked feature in mume'... Harr harr...
Fragir2001-06-26 10:34:21
These are realy nice ideas. Question is if it is worth to do it instead of some bugfixes, but i vote for good global changes than some bugfix which will do minor change to some area (if it is not REALY importand bugfix). Anyway these changes Naz suggested need not so small amount of programing, and I dunno who is now able (+have time) to do it from mume management. Unknown comments are stupid and pointless as usual.
Shadrach2001-06-26 10:58:03
Can u smell my ass Nazgum?
Bungee2001-06-26 11:10:28
You say all warriors have is Bash/Hit/Rescue. You forget kick! Seems to me that
kick does nothing but some basic unarmed damage, is this true? If so, why not make kick delay shorter and put some special features to it (depending on skill%) like break bash attempt, kick air out of lungs (unable to speak/cast for a while, or do moves 'damage') and so on? And remove the bug/feature that players can flee when bashed.
Alcion2001-06-26 13:17:18
Mr.Unknown should show his name sometimes, you're funny!!
Unknown2001-06-26 14:12:25
We are many yet we are one, we have no names yet we are called unknowns!
Btw Dr.Alban rocks.

Oscarmeyer2001-06-26 15:51:28
Bungee, if the flee when bashed thing were removed you might as well call this BashMud. There are too many bashtraps as it is, and you want to make it MORE powerful?
DWARF2001-06-26 16:08:28
SMELL ORC. DO YOU HAVE A BIG NOSE NAZGUM ? Sense is a bad idea.
DWARF2001-06-26 16:09:47
MELEE AND HIDING, GREAT IDEA NAZGUM !
Rogon2001-06-26 17:26:02
A tiny problem might be that there's noone to put 300 hours of coding time into making some very big changes like those, when there aint even anyone who have time to fix the lightning-message bug when you ride into a zone with lightning, and that bug is like a year old, how the bug works is known, its been reported repeatedly all over the boards, and it's still there. Buh!
Juston2001-06-26 17:32:14
Or that group bug where a lone person from a group leaves a room and creates noise.
Fredde2001-06-26 19:01:22
well remcoding bugs prolly is boring but makeing new areas and stuff is fun. now you gotta see why they make new areas instead of fixing bugs. and sense idea was nice =)
Indigo2001-06-26 19:14:45
The one suggestion that wouldn't require huge amounts of code and really would add something to the game imo is the combat messages. Its something I've been in favor of on this mud (and others where they have huge staffs of paid programmers and have even worse implementations). Maybe I'll talk to people and see how hard it would be...I'd do the messages if someone's willing to hack the code in.
