If you posted your dex + relevant pracs, it would be easier for us to judge. For all I know, you might have 7 dex and be lvl 2.

Yeah.. I'm gonna reroll to 20 dex and prac escape as mage? And Jabarah doesn't even exist.. In a strict roleplay point of view it might be impossible to flee from a room with 5 mobs hitting you, but in a gameplay point of view it totally kills any thought of going solo, which imho is one of the funner things to do. And I'm gonna post all my whine logs on whine.net, if I get over some good log it's posted elvenrunes...

So you failed 9 flees. What makes you think you would have succeeded with the old flee system. You probably would have spammed flee 9 times and still failed. Maybe you should have died. And soloing is still easy, with the right skills.

I really dont think that they made MUME with solo casters in mind...which is good...it would be really sad if a mage could spam around arda doing everything himself...get some exping pals...group up...it can be fun! solo pking is a different story...I am all for that..although as a warrior without track I dont think I will ever do it

i failed 9 flees b4 but in about 1/3 of the time that he took to fail the 9 flees which makes a big difference, mobs hitting faster we fleeing slower it's all fucked! :)

If you say it's easy to walk around Arda solo and getting insane exp as mage, you've never played mage. Wyrdda is done in one try with 3 heroes any day, but takes quite some time with sleeping mana, storing, quaking etc etc. Now I can't do that because I can't get out of the room... messed up. Devastator like to mobrip? It's a part of the game? If they made all trolls perma berserk because trolls don't flee in tolkien's books... would you accept that? Gameplay is more important than logical appearance, and if soloing becomes impossible it ruins half the gameplay. Heh.. not surprised seeing permaovertrapping Devastator thinking people should group up more.. :)

Mume has been moving steadily away from viable solo play for years now. Don't expect that to stop, in fact, don't even waste your time -asking- for it to stop. Clearly the implementors prefer people to play in groups, and they year by year add code to make solo play more and more unpleasant. If you don't like running around in groups, expect your Mume experience to become less and less pleasant over time. I myself have a love/hate relationship with this game: I love the game world, and I love 95% of the coding, but I'm also a dedicated solo player (group spam gives me a headache after about 5 minutes). To continually have my character punished because I don't play the way the implementors want me to play isn't much fun, so over the years I play less and less, to the point now where I normally only play a few weeks per year. But short of a major (and very unlikely) change of view from the management, I can't see any likelihood this trend will change. :/
