Well i dont see anything wrong with call lightning spell, especially since
they finally fixed the weather messages some. Some Bns also use it nowaydays,
which can lead to funny call duells in the open in contrast to some lame
overkill portal traps.

Exept that Bn calls are not as good as pukecalls, they cant fix weather and dont have staves?

Because of some fuckup in mume Illie loaded old playerfiles and
i lost that kill, wps and eq and probably Kunduk have his eq, exp and wps back.

i just fireballed+called on woman (i think it was clara) and she was
only hurt :). Btw, i was standing with my finger on 'call lightning' key
and waiting for her, and she managed to fireball me twice before i called on her!

Last I heard, call lightning has a -huge- range of damage, so if you get a bit unlucky you can call twice and end up doing only about as much damage as two bolts. But if you get a bit lucky...*BLAMMO*, wizkill. So it can swing either way. Obviously you don't tend to see the logs of when it fizzles because the target doesn't die, so logs tend to be prejudiced towards the high-damage calls.

well call lightning still is the gayest spell ever.. it shouldent me storable.. with out store it could be good. and you also know it snowy without call you wouldent be warlord. that just a fact!

To fredde: Last pk-kill with call was about a rl-year ago i think (since
Kunduk kill doesnt count), and i use it if i have to fight solo vs orc groups
or there is natural lightning up in zone. The main reason why i still have
the spell is to kill willow.

And im warlord because i pk solo mostly. I get more wps killing lvl 25 solo
than some high lvl darkies with some wps in huge group.
And more about lightning: it takes 2xfull mana to make weather from fair to
stormy, so no use in pk if you get weather up and have to leave manaless.

Walking out of a stored call isn't that hard to do, and once the storeds are gone the mage is screwed.

I think this isnt "solo pk" Snowy, but "solo overkill". Max warriors cant hit you in max ob sets and with hewer - you think its fair ?

I guess Porien ment solo wizkill. Solo overkill sounds a bit funny. Anyway that spell is fine as it is imo. Only stupid thing here is that the lightning weather is too discrete (boundaries are zonewise), so you are in room with fine weather, move 1 room away and you get called a lightning upon you (and you probably don't get message about lightning if you are riding as well - unless Rogon's spamming worked and they already fixed that).

Warriors allways whine and scream "Overpowered" when a caster gets a kill in a 1 on 1 fight. If the bash had succeded you prolly wouldn't have died. If you had noticed the weather message you should have figured he might call. Stored spells are practically the only way for a solo caster to deliver some damage, that and fast cast which eats mana so fast you often run out of mana before the opponant is dead. As it is now fighters win more solofights vs casters than casters do, and that's probably why they whine like hell when they die to a caster. When figting a caster it's pretty easy to flee away from the stored spells. After thy are gone the odds are all in the warriors favour. If call or stored spells are overpowered so is bash.
