I think that pk in MUME would be more fun if pkilling was made faster.
Like 50% more dam to all weapons and no approach.
More dam would be more realistic anyway so you don't have to pound
opponent's head like 10 times with a heavy warhammer before he dies.
Also there would be less trapping and more blood in open area fights.

Just want to know what people think about it,
and please post your ideas...

They made everything 25% faster a couple of years ago to make trapping more popular. (well their reasons might have been others i guess!). I'd love to see it speeded up again, but i seriously doubt it'll happen.

It would make huge groups overpowered as hell....and it would only benefit the warrior classes so I dont think the gods will like the idea vey much

Could make spells faster too but 120dam from quick dispel is crazy enough.

AFAIK slowdown was made to reduce advantage of fastlinked players. Which is good. And yes, that applies to warriors mostly. Imagine 3 smiters with no weapon delay, no approach, no movedelay in open areas. When leader is good, it is deadly for solo victim (even if victim is fastlinked too).

It wouldn't stop trapping; rather, it would likely increase. Imagine running into a closable with a larger group inside, and you will die in 5-6 hits max. Most trappers wouldn't even bother blocking exits anymore. Just wizkill the poor victim and leave.

id like to see everything sped up and increased damage (spells included :)). just to try it. and aschit you can think of a pro and con for every situation. as it is changes have to come from the players nothing the management can do.

Increasing speed/dmg will make mume just more luck depend. It already is very random generator based after some recent changes (new flee). With such a change you will just enter bad room not ready and you insta die. It already happend to my 30+ shaman once on mume7, just ran on oer to 3 smiters one pounder and INSTA died from HURT hps (was some 170 hps + old armour). No fun at all. ---- If you wanna increase dmg sure you can, but you have to change defence counting/spell saving code some so that what i mentioned above wont happen all the time.

That might make the game more fun for powerful highbies, but it just means that low-level and low-hp persons will die that much faster.

I played another pk-based mud that made certain high-level and powerful people even more powerful, as a reward and suchlike, and then tried to balance them with even more powerful people on the opposite side. You end up getting 2 groups of elite players who just rule the regular people.
