Dont play Zorc if u wanna whine, there is a war going on.
dispater2002-01-19 06:19:46
he chased you because if you are playing zaugurz orc, then you are supposed to know what you're doing. he probably was looking for a challenging hunt. did you give it to him?

Well, I had just got killed by Norsu-pack and was sitting Khuzurish waiting for wither of the 2 trees to pop a branch for me (someone looted all of my corpse after death). It didnt pop and you came by as something to pass the time with.
First suggestion, dont rest at main routes when low moves. Go off the roads and rest, found you just by bushes/thornbushes Khuzur. And rivers were frozen so no help there.

Either, not wither... *peer self*

Usually the first thing when I encounter an enemy is not to con him or check his eq, I tend to hit first, it's kinda automatic ... So how was he to know you were a newbie ? and there is a war going on, expect to be killed if you meet an enemy ? yes ? Comf on the death but it happens and if you were lowbie with shitty eq you prolly didn't lose xp much and re-eq is easy.

I know it was cowardish of me to chase a lowbie orc....but I suck, cant help it.
Deimus2002-01-19 12:02:36
if you're such a newbie then why are you playing zorc?
Fredde2002-01-19 13:19:32
the first thing you did that was wrong was logging zorc. dont you understand. zorcs are for experienced player.
Bulba2002-01-19 13:56:05
good tactic to hide self, but run to river first :)
Edvard2002-01-19 13:56:55
i always chase lowbie through waters. good training for the times when u have to chase a legend through the same waters =)

Your all very gay. But its cool being so gay. Its alright to be gay, I'm gay and I admit it.
Drenical2002-01-19 20:52:04
Chased a lvl 7 zaugurz yesterday for 10 minutes... ended with him dying from wounded to dead in a quake while hidden or so, but was a damn fun 10 minutes with tracking riversides and guessing and spamming and some more guessing and tracking.
Zardaukar2002-01-19 22:02:01

Brucie2002-01-19 23:15:07
Rogon you little cuddle-muffin, you have awakened my social consciousness. I admit you are gay, too.
Rayden2002-01-19 23:18:59

* W S C Move:Fainting>ba elfYou begin to move silently to the back of your victim...
i think your stab would do like 10 hps dam + light, maybe deep wound *if* you succeed..
comf on death tho..

Actually, it was not a bad getaway attempt, but there certainly are areas of improvement. Rivers were suggested, but ass it was winter it didn't help you. If you have good hide skill, hide thoro is usually not necessary as long as you stay in forest sectors. Moving just by either one or two rooms and hiding quick would save you some moves and help to hold on longer. Also, hiding in rooms with aggr mobs can do wonders - unfortunately for you, in that particular place there are no mobs that the elf couldn't have ignored by shrouding self. Taking a loop through some climb exits could be a good idea - there's always a chance that your hunter hasn't put more than a single prac in climb, and so you can win a little bit of more time, make him lose his mount so that he will be slowed down a bit further. knowing hidden exits (especially good are those that are in water-rooms) can be extremely helpful in general, but not in the particular situation you were in. At the end of the day - if a seriously dedicated hunter who knows his stuff happens to pick up your (i.e. lowbie or midlevel zorc) tracks somewhere in Eregion or Dunland, you're pretty much toast no matter what. All you can really hope for is that either your chaser gets bored or distracted - otherwise you WILL be hunted down, found and killed. At winters rivers are frozen, at summers days are long and your mobility is therefore further screwed. I can think of only one semi-safe place in these regions, and even that is becoming fast overused. Therefore, the best tactics appears to be to minimise the chance of your tracks being picked up - and to my eyes this was the place where you made quite a mistake - you wouldn't really want to rest at Khuzur thornbushes even if you were tarkhnarb orc or a bn.
