As usual it comes down to me to explain why you can flee into that room. *sigh*. It's not a DEATH flagged room. You know it's a DEATH flagged room because you a. can get "phew - you escaped blaha", b. the eq stays on the ground in the DEATH flagged room when someone dies there and is always completely unretrievable, c. it's always lit and finally d. you can't FLEE into it!

Let me tell you about that room. t's cursed! If you swim on the river when it's not frozen (obviously), the current can take you in to the waterfall and kill you. I know of two other rooms that act like this aswell.
