Im sorry to say this, but Rogon has the right that all of us and some have to play mume, and as for him quitting; yes it is nice to not have to worry about seeing him, but its sorta not the same without him I guess. I am a canadian (not "asslicking american") and i group with Pandion/Norsu with these characters sometimes. Anyone who has grouped with Norsu would know that he is quite knowledgable of zones (maybe not the best, but he know ALOT), reacts properly in nearly all PK situations, and is #1 warlord for a reason. Any of you fucknut cockgobblers that post flame logs/comments on a guy you probably know not all that much about and are most likey jealous of his successes. I don't particularily like pk groups of 3+ but I would almost always join Rogon's groups as the people are fun to talk to and they are very effective in pk. By the way, grow some fucking stones you pussies and post your name when you flame someone. Or does feeling like a lowlife, whiney bitch appeal to you?

Ok, I don't like Norsu, and it is very clear that Rogon hates me (see every log almost I have ever posted). But I have never questioned his ability to play this game. I play a very high percentage of the time in the eregion area, and I know the rivers and hiding places there quite well. But at least half the time I have met a Norsu-group of orcs and had to run he has found me. Eregion is the easiest place in the game to avoid pk, so the fact that he can find people there tells a great deal. Yes, his smitegroups annoy the hell out of me, and yes, I annoy the hell out of him, but he is a GOOD player. Now please excuse me while I go drink myself into oblivion after I just realized that I am on Rogon's side!

Give Donk, Smrtihlav, Othrod, Zim, Korgul, Spellbinder,
or countless other players i cannot think of atm the same
link as norsu, the same amount of login hours, and have
them never leave noc without 3+ followers, never enter
any closables, never fight fair, etc etc etc...

Point is rogon is not so hot a player, but most of the
players mentioned above would not take up his lame
playing style, And Rogon's playing style has chased
several of the cooler players off the game. He's
only person i seen that will try 15+ on some 6 traps
and be proud of it.

He deserves much less credit then most give him,
if he starts running solo some and using tactics
perhaps i'll start givin him some rescept.

Til that day i'm glad he's gone and i hope mammoth

This can be viewed quite clearly when it comes to Rogons chars.

Wyzz - His first char i think, elf mage of course cause they rule (but he didnt)
Grez - A warrior created when sanc smiters were overpowered
Zed - Trolls had insane handdamage and moveregen for abit, even think he managed
to make 2 trolls or something.
Sarah - Yea, stab was good for awhile
Eileen - As was ultra-defence elf clerics
Posh - Can you spell 'hold'
Norsu - The standard orc warrior kicks ass, especialy with poison.

Then he did a number of warriors in mume7 because they were good which explains his other chars.

I know he did a number of others but nothing he played, guess they werent good enough.

Im a below-mediocre player, with a semi-good link, and quarter of a clue, still, I cant find myself anywhere on warlords list.. No offense, but I dont think its THAT easy to warlord, though I may be wrong since I am a real sucky pker ;)
As for attacking ppl's playingstyle, diff ppl, diff styles.....

i think rogon is a good player, but if he used other tactics, i'd respect

Rogon rocks as a player like every other char with same online time and link + zone knowledge

loved by his friends. That is, hated by those whom he killed and loved by those
who follow him or those that he feeds with EQ.

The statemen saying that beening a warlord doesn't prove much on how good a player
you are, is correct. I made my first warlord before i even knew the way between
bree and rivendell and before i knew what a client was. I have had all classes
and races except thieves on NO1 warlords and i still consider myself a semi good
player with lots to learn. Beeing on warlords is all about not dying and having
enough playing time for your wps to not decay at a faster rate then you gain them.
Hence don't use warlords to messure how good a player somone is.

Finally, Rogon is not a bad player. In fact he is way over average. ;-)

I remember when I warlorded a few characters. I was tell-spammed plenty hate.
I was accused of using actions, having a huge lab group, conspiring with
the Vala+, and even accused of using pre-set actions to travel faster. My
point? Everyone pins everything to those that better them. And, for some
odd reason, the warlord list is a measure of status.

What I can say about Rogon is that he surely rocks in zone knowledge and leadership,
he is fair enough to not kill linkless. It's just his playing style that made him kinda
unpopular among some players. The style of not risking anything anywhere. Some ppl believe
that playing with risk is more fun, obviously Rogon doesn't. It's probably also because of
his perma-mega-full-set, it sucks to lose such a set just because you risked some. :-)
Maybe its even because of the Czechs who killed him few times when he decided to risk.

Hints for fighting his chars:
If he doesn't insta flee, don't fight him unless you wanna fight with disadvantage.
If you think he is trapping somewhere, expect at least 12.

Well, I'd be glad to see some of the hugegrouping orcs -and- pukes retire for a while. I'll gladly admit that Rogon is a good player. I don't think he's the best - not by a long shot - but he's a good one none the less. What I *don't* like about him is his playing style. For me it's a question of sportsmanship and game. A player can be technically good but play the game without character or heart and as a result be boring or annoying to watch (he might for example use every dirty trick in the book he thinks he can get away with). Another player might be technically just as good, but play with more style and try to refrain from using dirty tricks. I would favour the later player any day, because it would please me more to watch him play the game, not to mention play against him.

So while those smitergroups of 4-15 are running around (be they Norsugroups or other) I'll refrain from playing MUME since I don't enjoy doing so under said circumstances. No great loss, I'll grant you (I don't think I am anybody's favourite player ;-), and I'm (fairly) sure the impact on global warming will be less than significant, but I'm sad. Sad because I really liked playing MUME, and now I don't anymore. It's almost like losing a friend (yes I -do- miss you silly buggers).

So I'm going to ask the MUME management once more: Please do something about the huge groups. Remove the ability to group more than 3 players. Make grouping unneccesary to get xp off mobs - let it suffice to have caused damage and be in the room when the mob dies. Remove the effects of leadership on group movement. Give closing doors a significant time delay and make it so that you can't both close a door and fight at the same time. Up Bns and trolls a little - they're on the downside as is. And -please- do something about ppl that play the game only to provoke and spoil the fun for others, such as those that participate in darkie-darkie pkilling. Anyone else here remember Kulashaker? Or any of the other lame trolls that used to haunt Warrens and kill other trolls? Deal with the present situation in a similar way to the one which was used back then. Bansite the ppl that can't behave themselves after a few warnings.

Yep, I'm an asskisser etc cause I group with Rogon. I can't play the game, I suck, etc etc. without following him. People crying cause they meet 2 smiters and a cleric and die. Wah. 'Norsu Groups' have always been around, only nowadays we got a bunch of fucking pussies playing Mume who can't figure out how to flee or use their brains to escape. I've run into those same size groups solo a billion times, they are not hard to evade. I've been poisoned alone near Rdell with Arachnia alone with no rem poison and made it to Bree. It's not that hard. And remember, as some people like to constantly remind me, I suck! If I suck, and can do all that shit, some of these whiney cry-babies should be able to too. Rogon isn't ruining the game, all the new crappy players are.

To Ajax: You remember back when solo players could actually pk successfully? Like Thorac, Donk, Tyc, Sheol, Burst, Darkun/Lurken? Or even Snarf or Isengran for that matter? You don't see anyone running around solo these days like those guys did.

I'm not saying we should be going back to the days of fireball-tossing warriors. All I'm saying is that since the MUME management stating some years back that huge groups were a problem that should be elimenated does not seem to be enough to stop players from forming huge groups, that the aspect of MUME's code that enables huge groups to form should be removed or radically changed.

This does -not- mean that MUME will become like Quake Arena, as you will see unless you are stupid, insane or without any imagination whatsoever.

MUME is a great game and it's worth the effort to keep it that way.
