Unknown2005-03-17 01:26:43
this thing,
*nod*
*stare*
*yawn*
*l*(look)
etc in instant mesenger is a normal problem for all of uss mumers.. it acctualy means that we are lazy?
like, nod stat etc is sooo much quicker to type than any other shit..
i think this is due to we type it TONS times in a session..
anyone agree?
like.. i type nod faster than i type ya... (i think) :P
Meatwad2005-03-17 01:29:12

Back when text RPG's were it, like space quest and those games, I had "open door" and "open window" programmed into my fingers, could type those in half a second. And sometimes did when I didn't mean to.

Now it's sc, i, l, nod, saying "a" before every sentense on IRC or IM (a is my alias for say).
Saralonde2005-03-17 14:15:58
hehe. you are not the only one with theese problems :P when me and my mates have a conversation I always say nod and when me and my mumemates talk the conversation NEVER is the same without talking about mume for like 2 hours orso :P people around us think we crazy! (talking about "yeah, and then I narred he bashed! and then I ate bash") the thing is: bash, if you say it in english, could sound like the word "bæsj" and that word means poop in norwegian :P so you go figure how stupid we sound when we talking :P growl
Meatwad2005-03-18 01:27:16
Im soo cool now :D
meatwad2005-03-18 04:10:52
and alzo has anyone had a text-based dream? they are so cool
Suka2005-03-18 12:16:57
me and my friends talk about mume in russian, but all mume terms like bash, flee, narrate do not sound right when translated. so our conversations were like: - ej, kak dela? - da vot trollja sandajnul. - blin, a menja dwarf i lowyn wizkilnuli v lage. - nado bilo spamat' flee. - dwarf insta bashnul i ja sozhral 3 dispela s healthy do incap.

and this would go on for hours.
Mandor 2005-03-18 13:08:14
Yepp, as do we in swedish.
Sogard 2005-03-18 16:19:52
It's probably because you subconciously think of it like slang, thus, your mind doesn't make you translate it, and you just say the term you're familar with. Even though some of them would translate (portal/bash trap for example), because of what those terms mean, saying it in english just comes naturally to you.

I start all of my messenger messages with '.
And i say nod to non-mudders all the time who think I am mad. But those are the obvious ones.
Saralonde2005-03-23 16:24:16
Mumedreams! yeah those rock! But usually mix up like I am walking rl and dreams that I type bash blablabla etc etc.. but then, my mind aint like others :P kinda fucked up =P

OMG, meatwad sounds to me like a first grader
He can't tell the difference between Logs and Discussion! And also, at least mithfalen (sadly) knows where to post but doesn't know WHAT to post.
