It all started with Dorien (Christian Lindeberg) in December 1999. As the first publicly avaliable MUME logpage, to which anyone could post logs, comments and rumours, Mume.net quickly got popular.

The domain expired in August 2002 and the site became unavaliable.

In December 2002 Mandor gets a copy the database and is allowed to put up a mirror site, but without posting or commenting.

May 2004 and the site reopens, after a short recess, and accounts and aliases are introduced, while still allowing anonymous posters.
