Coded support for account aliases today.

Aliases are if you want to prove you are you, just as you can with an account, but without the hassle of multiple accounts.

All posts you make in the name of any alias you have, will be shown as a confirmed signature post.

When creating new aliases, you will receive a mail to that character, with an activation code, just as when you created your account.

Neat! Be ready to work, here come all my characters.
Mandor 2004-05-18 00:39:26
Maybe I should add, noone will be able to 'browse' or even see which alias (chars) belong to which account.

This can only be read by the account holder him/herself and the mume.net admins. (Currently I am the only admin, but if more are added, I'll make sure to pick reliable people.)

Dead Discussions-

Discussions should have a life time on them. 1 month no posts = ZAP!

Otherwise, your just wasting space that no-one will ever bother to read anyway....
Kril 2004-07-31 17:48:09
Oh, and fix your damn stats page so it reflects accounts, not individuals will ya????

Sorta stupid to see myself ther eunder 3 different characters....
Zain 2004-07-31 23:46:53
What you mean so that if someone wants to go and read all the old threads they can't because they've been deleted to save a few scraps of disk space?
Mandor 2004-08-01 10:52:16
Kril, you realized that implementing that would remove, say 4500 logs too? The reason this site exist (new and old logs and comments)!

I have plenty of diskspace. And to be honest, the entire site is merely a little over 150mb right now. (The backup of this site is over 1100mb though, I like frequent backups.)

Sorting the stats per account could compromize secret characters. Imagine the following:
I check your stats, you have 100 comments. Then you comment with one of your secret characters, and you suddenly have 101 comments. If noone else had posted in that very same second, it's easy for me to figure out that secret character of yours, would it not?
Kril 2004-08-01 21:56:37
No, more because old discussions are dead discussions. Why allow someone to renew a 2 year old discussion? Its just pointless.

As for the 'secret' characters, well, if you really have THAT little of a life Mandor, feel free to track down my 'secret' characters.
Mandor 2004-08-01 23:04:20
There are only 10 discussions shown per page, simply only visit the first page?

I won't track your characters down, but I know that some people _want_ their secret characters to be secret. No need for me to spoil it for them.

Then create two mume.net accounts. :P
Amras 2004-10-07 06:54:19
Make everyone sign up accounts so we get rid of these "Unknown lamers"?
Unknownlamer2004-10-07 07:09:03
I find that last post offensive.
Amras 2004-10-07 07:14:03
Good for you?
Unknownlamer2004-10-11 13:18:54
You're killing me now, Amras. Please stop.
Amras 2004-10-11 22:05:01
Maybe tomorrow?
Unknownlamer2004-10-12 04:18:05
Okay.
Unknown2004-10-12 05:07:04
So I'm a lamer because I'm too lazy to type my name in the box.
Amras 2004-10-12 06:46:01
You sure are!
Amras2004-10-12 06:48:30
How bout now?
Unknown2004-10-12 17:41:41
Amras, you really think your one-word posts are inspiring Mandor to get rid of unknown posters in favour of named posters like you, or you are joking?
Amras 2004-10-12 18:28:16
I sure do?
