We need to get more readers to this page, not only to make it more fun, but to make it more creative.

We should put up ideas here as to how or what we should do to get more. I´m trying to send as much logs I can and comment etc to keep it fresh, what can you do? :)
Amras 2004-06-04 13:37:42
I can spam pointless stuff? ;)
Mandor 2004-06-04 14:37:58
I'm doing my part - *stomps a bug*
Unknown2004-06-04 14:39:55
I think there are many readers allready, look at elvenrunes logs/discussion - some are taken from mume.net! :)
Sung2004-06-04 18:11:32
When I was a mume newbie I found this great site when there was some cool fight and someone narrated about 'log posted on mume.net!' Just let people in game know that way.

And for mume.net newbies, take a look at some of the older logs and comments so you get an idea how often we had crazy laughs on this site the last time it was open. Hopefully there will be more freedom here than on certain other sites, just don't abuse it and fun will be had by all :)
Aredhel 2004-06-04 19:37:19
On a somewhat related note, I recommend to folks who have accounts to bookmark their favourite old logs. This way other people get and easy way to find logs that are interesting for one reason or another.
Mandor 2004-06-04 20:24:12
Yes, you can all show your taste of logs and let people brows the logs that you have chosen. If you choose good logs, and keep choosing for a while, it wouldn't surprise me if you get a steady flock of readers and commenters :)
Bagger2004-06-05 18:19:00
"If you get a steady flock..." Mandos said.

If WE get it is, Mandor!
Mandor 2004-06-05 18:25:13
I meant a steady flock reading your bookmarks.
Bagger 2004-06-07 00:22:51
I just ate ban at elvenrunes for promoting mume.net a bit to much! I must say I´m happy with my work! :)
Barzalak2004-06-07 00:35:23
It looks like its working... more and more start checking mume.net when they are looking for logs :)
Zain 2004-06-07 00:56:59
Heh, you get banned at elvenrunes for anything. Looks like they're scared of the competition. A bit lame really, I don't know if anyone would be banned from here for promoting elvenrunes. Why not just let it happen and let the sites compete?

I've been banned from ER since September for posting as a character that had deleted. Of course, several other people have posted as non-valid characters and got off with warnings, and some even do it today with not so much as a batted eyelid. I suppose the justice system on there is like on MUME, i.e depends entirely on who you are.
Bagger 2004-06-07 01:06:29
Now I´m completely banned :p Can´t even log on to the page :p

We must now ruin elvenrunes :p We must produce more logs than them with an ok qualitie and we must keep the whines away to keep this as a fun page!

DOWN with elvenrunes1
Amras 2004-06-07 07:47:08
I think I'm gonna start promoting Elvenrunes here! :p
Chark 2004-06-07 11:14:30
Lol@Bagger & Amras :)

I think if we just let the time pass it will all come to balance and the readers/logs will find their own places.
Zain 2004-06-07 11:37:01
Yeah, post all the good stuff on here, and the shit stuff (linkless whines, overkills, rp logs) on elvenrunes.
Unknown2004-06-07 17:23:30
Yeah and every time someone posts a really shitty log here we just write a comment which says:

elvenrunes.com

Payback!
Aredhel 2004-06-07 19:15:16
Dear Unknown, isn't it nice to finally be able a place to post anonymous comments again and not get perma-booted? ;-)
Zain 2004-06-07 22:35:43
Payback? It's payback to come on here and imply that your favourite site is the one where all the shitty logs go?
Unknown2004-06-08 07:06:24
Dear Zainie, maybe you missed it but when elvenrunes became active, some commenters called the shitty logs sent there 'mume.net stuff'. I was only half serious, whoever makes that comment is some 2.unknown.

Elvenrunes was never my favourite site. How could banning people that you laugh at and laugh with ever make the site better? What's so horribly wrong with commenting as Clint, a crunchy oak staff etc. if it doesn't insult anyone but does give someone a chuckle?

And Aredhel. Mandor knows who we are, if he doesn't like our comments then he can bansite or send angry mume-mail. Meanwhile, I do enjoy the freedom, commenting unknown is almost as good as mudding naked.

But enough about ER, off to other adventures.
Amras 2004-06-08 17:19:00
"What's so horribly wrong with commenting as Clint, a crunchy oak staff etc. if it doesn't insult anyone but does give someone a chuckle?"

No, it doesn't give anyone a chuckle, it's just annoying!
Unknown2004-06-08 19:47:24
Speaking of attracting readers. Mandor does not have mume.net in his whois, and neither have any of his or other people's chars posted on any boards that it is back up (as far as I could see, at least).

Maybe it is worth doing that, at least?
Bagger2004-06-08 19:49:49
Logs on mume.net is what I have on 3 or so characters, should work well! considering 2 of them is warlords and one more or less known!
Mandor 2004-06-08 20:06:28
I'm not sure that I'm that wellknown, or that people connect me to logs (Im not really and good producer of them). And I don't think many whois me (apart from wondering why I got that title, I guess).

And I'm not much for advertising nor bragging. Heh. But feel free to spread the word. =)
Phantasm 2004-06-08 21:35:23
I don't know what ya'll are talkin about, but even the shittie logs gives me something to read. In my mind they all suck. so move the f(*&^ on.
Zain 2004-06-09 12:09:46
Nothing wrong with advertising. How else are people going to find out about the site, word of mouth?
Unknown2004-06-09 17:29:19
People whois visible gods randomly. And really there is nothing wrong with making a post as a mortal.

But if Mandor doesn't want to advertise, I am sure readers of this site can.
Conspiracy 2004-06-09 21:40:33
Humm. Elvenrunes is to much. But one thing we could to to attract readers to this page is to interview ppl. That is something everyone finds very funny and it would draw many ppl to mume.net. Sure we steal the idea from elvenrunes but its a free market. Cry me a river.
Aredhel 2004-06-09 22:09:09
You can always just chat with people and post a log if they don't mind. Frankly, I find most of those things insanely boring (unless it is interview of Draaz by his warg), but if people like it *shrug*.
