We have recently seen the log where Nopy gets samesided.

I know samesiding has been going on for a long time (in logs search for Grang and you'll see what I mean) but why does it occur?

Is it the xp?

Is the the fame and notoriety?

Or is it the chance to get in everyone's kill on sight list - and ruin your char?

Also search for logs with Yanwe (another one of Grang's chars).

It's mostly bunch of assholes ruining game for others, like people with real small equipment or real lowlives.
That is also one of the reasons why darkside sucks nowadays more than ever.
It is a fakking game, if you're pissed go and get stoned. Or get over it.

Got to agree with Snot about the reasons they are doing this.

However, I would rather be on the dark side where you can kill the idiots who same-side others on sight, than on the whitie side where you have to ask gods permission whenever you sneeze and where the jerks rent with your eq while the gods decide if you can do anything without being Sauron-listed.

Actualy worse then samesiding on darkie side is, when some newbie (asshole) hit your horse and guards assist means if you are afk, horse dead, and you cant even kill newbie cause of stupid newbie protection :p

If done the right way it would be very RP. Think of Return of the king when the orcs come across frodo's shirt, and the fighting it causes. Same with the White hand Uruks and other orcs over the hobbits. If a legend sees a lowbie with legend eq, it would be quite RP to demand the eq, and/or kill them for it. That would probably cause some asshole(s)/lab(s) to go apeshit with same-siding for eq, but it'd be more reasonable Rp-wise than the random shit that happens now.

Sadly most same-siding is done for OOc reasons, or to be an asshole, but there have been some amusing incidents, such as Polydueks insulting ciluras, who then killed poly, and was then killed by several friends of poly (log on ER somewhere), or goretounge(?) killing some dumbass bn who was idling in DT with auto-block triggers at the captain(here on mume.net).


Elaros, you CAN kill newbies under newbie protection if you use the quake spell, unless it was changed within the past year. there's a log either here or on ER of someone killing a mount-killer newbie with it.

Being a samesider (MOHAHA), I love the rush you get! I have to say it's a little of all three things! Fame + the exp + the ruined char and the EQUIPMENT!
