I have made over 100 dif chars.. and none of them "satisfy"(bad english?) me. i play on them uintill i get around hero level and then i quit cause either i deal no damage or i die all the time.... could use some help to improve my playing and my char... i also hear that combo chars are much better, but i dont know how to make a combo char cause i am still a little newbie....:P please help u big guys:D yeah btw... i have the area skils to play as tarknab orc since that is the only darkire race i can play. except trollz offcurz;) in my head my perfect char is a player that deal alot of damage- can solo (pk)- and dont die so much/easy

oh yeah btw. if i make a new char will any1 help me get some eq (maybe fgc chanted weapon) and level it some?

My tip for low chars - go to Ingrove. You can loot stuff at noc like plants and hopefully orc mobs (if you are lucky) and sell them for lots. All my lowbie chars have full metal sets etc due to this :)

So, what's wrong with these lines? First, playing til hero... what's that? You haven't even reached legend, you got no idea yet if that char really is good or not! So you don't deal any damage at lvl18, heck, I doubt there's any non-warrior who's able to deal any real damage at those levels anyway! Play them longer, don't care about that, just have fun with them. :)

Also, if you find dying such an awful thing then MUME is really not your mud. At newbie days one is bound to die a lot and lot more and then some more, but if you can't take that...

I assume you meant you couldn't kill an orc scout? Well, reasons for that might be many, first I can think of - for example, that the orc scout was simply a lot better than you in playing skills and pure character strenghts had little to do with it.

Second version however that Eorlin the character indeed does suck. Could you show us his stats and prac-set here perhaps? We could help a lot more then.

No need, the char (Elaros) sucks tooo much too, but i enjoyed playing him alot...it so, as MUME warrior you either use hammer and metals...or suck...like me :) cause i use chainmail and spear ;) as true elven warrior .)

I think maybe if you the computer rolls your stats, you should have the option of having it decide your pracs, that will help alot of newbies out by showing them, hey don't get kick you newbie =).

Make a troll, it's not hard to make one that can deal damage, just use unarmed. If practiced right you can slash for defense and use a weapon for high ob(less damage than unarmed though), but you'll need lvl 30+ to effectively do that.

Still, a legend troll who focuses on unarmed, bash, endurance and wilderness can kill very well, provided you like to play without track, or plan to follow and not lead. :P

thanks for posting. but i have done that. and i found out that i like to lead (solo) and i dont know area so well so i will most prob. sun and i did alot! and most of all i like to use eq:D to get eq and build my way up towards great eq:D and trolls only use leathers for max ob.:(

About your stats and pracs and such..

Of course you're not making any damage! You're a slasher! *peer* btw, you don't need that many pracs in bandage and ride for them both to work, decay some of both. You should max one weapon-skill (prefebly concussion) which actually does damage. About your stats, they aren't that bad, however I think you should lower your per a bit and raise str to 18.

Assuming those stats you gave us were in 2nd age, then your base stats are following: (riight?)
Str:17 Int:11 Wis:10 Dex:15 Con:18 Wil:12 Per:15.

Then I think you could change them into something like this, perhaps?
Str:18 Int:11 Wis:11 Dex:15 Con:18 Wil:12 Per:13.

In second age that'd be.
Str:18 Int:12 Wis:11 Dex:16 Con:18 Wil:14 Per:14.

Just some quick ideas, don't have time for long posts right now.

level 45 orc war third age: 491 hps, 166 moves.
no track, conc/smite 111%, slash 101%, fullset ob solo: 160-165 at stonedoor, 155 defence.

These 3 are only perfect chars what i have ever made -_- (perfect for me and my playstyle)

btw, people who're going to try out Rancr's chars... Keep in mind the sign "fullset" next to that battlemage. That's a more than important note. ;)

Same with the orc warrior. CBF and rubyring are like adding 2 full levels worth of OB. also, if it's fullset, would that include orkish horn too?


Androg: Slashers aren't totally screwed out of damage wthout artifacts anymore thanks to the claymore. It's not as good as conc(imo, nothing is), but it hits nicely. It's possible to deal decent damage as a slasher, but you'll still do more with smite or conc.

made str and con so high cause i die all the time.:( str for more moves and con for hp. still die though. died moveless again..... twice actually... i dont think i am experienced enough to play orc.. my playstyle is that i like to solo and arent a wimpy like many many MANY people are... thats maybe why i die all the time:D i dont think overkilling is no fun.

1. i dont get any credit for it.
2. i dont get any pk-skills for it.

ur stats were kinda ok, i usually go for max con on orc thieves, becoz str ring gives str 16 anyway on second age, and with my stats i get second age to begin with as scout.

A mage is probably a good choice for solo pk. Mage fights are always interesting to see, and they get good mobility and the most fun offensive spells.

i like dwarves..:D they do alot of damage:D need help on stats though. for max damage only damage.
