Anyone know of any succesful combo stats and what to prac and when?
Jase2005-08-13 05:47:06
Dunadan: Str:16 Int:15 Wis:14 Dex:17 Con:16 Wil:12 Per:13

175 def at ford with eng bs and bej and full white chain + fine grey and +5 ob/db ring. Spells are mostly mage, with fireball, lightning bolt, shocking grasp, armour, color spray, and only cleric spells are bob/cure/bless. Few people have ever tried this stat because of its 295 hps at lvl 35 but its def really makes up for it. So if you level it to 25 and prac spells it works and works even better at 35. Max ob is also 120 at ford so its more of a power mage. Bash is about 65% or something with 22-26 pracs? Not sure

To the last unknown: Those stats won't work until MUME6 is back.
Jase2005-08-17 02:52:47
Er, by stats I meant pracset. Stats might work if you try em.
Unknown2005-08-17 09:57:52
Jase give correct pracset please then, also add Your correct stats :).
Jase2005-08-17 10:20:04
Although I dont play mume anymore, I believe my stats were the something similar to the ones I mentioned above. The only problem with that pracset is that there's too much into bash. I think 25-30 should be enough, you have more dex than the normal combo (12) so it shouldn't be too bad. Also cut down 10 pracs from wilderness, usually 10 pracs in it should be enough.
Unknown2005-08-17 12:28:40
And where to put these extra prac sessions? Bash will be awfully slow too I think :).

Those are some nice stats, Jase, but what are the bases?
Jase2005-08-18 03:26:00
I dont bother to log on MUME anymore so I can't check. I haven't played in several months really so.. But about bash, bash speed is quite random and the speed is sometimes or not increased at all depending on wil. So all you need really is over 60%, but I prefer around 65-70, which is enough to bash if you get to legend.

I'd like to make an archer type char: shooting and slashing/parrying, but with few magic skills and a decent amount of moves and hp. It seems I need high dex and per and a certain amount of str to wield a sword. As slashing is the secondary weapon skill I'd keep str at a minimum, but high enough to wield swords of a reasonable size. What str would you recommend? Also I'm not quite sure of the race to choose yet. Elf would be cool, but MUME elves are too "magical", men are boring so it seems this might be the only place where a half-elf really does make sense. Any suggestions?

Just make a thief/mage with the following base stats str: 12, int: 15, wis: 12, dex: 19, con: 14, wil: 11, per: 17.

Prac mostly thief skills until lvl 25 then start getting magic. Get max armour, lightning bolt as main attack and shroud. Then get store, earthquake, color spray, fireball, if you want them. For cleric spells put a couple of pracs in create food and max(?) bob. Also you need bless and enchant for staff :). There may be other spells I left out but that is just the base of the character.
fonso2005-09-07 11:56:16
well, that's not quite what I wanted to do ...
I know that the last poster's suggestion would be easier to play but I want to make a warrior-thief combo. The most important question is what str is needed in order to wield - say - a dunadan blade or other good swords. I had a try with a silvan elf with 14 str (I think) and it wasn't enough to wield a longsword so I decided I'd better get some info before I try again...
Unknown2005-09-07 13:14:03
Perhaps Str:15 Int: 9 Wis: 8 Dex:18 Con:16 Wil:12 Per:17? With age and str-ring you can wield whatever weapon you want (almost). And track should be fairly fast.
fonso2005-09-07 16:12:42
ok, thanks
I think an archer should be a master of the missile skill and as I won't get the full thief bonus I need to tweak the stats to achieve this.
I played around with jahara's stat generator a bit and it seems the optimal value for missile together with a strength of 15 can be achieved like this:

Str:15 Int:10 Wis: 9 Dex:19 Con:13 Wil:10 Per:19. (Silvan)

that's a quite fragile character but could be playable,
or even more extreme and with a little more hp:

Str:15 Int: 9 Wis: 8 Dex:19 Con:14 Wil: 8 Per:19. (Silvan)

they both get very good values in parry and slashing though. Elf must be the race of choice because of the bonus in both dex and per. I think I'll try with the first set of stats

someone post shaman-scout stats?:P if its even possible/worth it...
Unknown2005-09-08 01:09:09
For a shaman-scout it would be easier to do a bn thief-mage. With an orc it would only be useful to get mentals high enough for bob.
Battlecleric2005-09-08 15:27:43
Think my battlecleric has tha following stats:

Dwarf, 4th age:
str:16 con:18 wil:15 dex:12 per:9 wis:18 int:14

Gives me around 330 hps, 117 mana and 138 mvs
at lvl 30'ish

Defence in full fine is actually around 130 with staff and buckler.

130'ish OB in aggr in neutral zones with a 80% + bash. And max cleric spells around 80% as well... Can land 2x quick harms if lucky, on one bash.
